摘 要 选修课开设是人才培养计划和课程体系的重要组成部分，是发展学生兴趣爱好、扩大学生知识面以及提高大学生综合素质的重要途径。文章阐述了化学与生活选修课的教学内容、教学方法、考核方式等具体教学实践，探讨了在医学院校开设本门课程的必要性，并对如何丰富教学内容、提高教学效果做出了具体的思考。通过本门课程的学习，有助于优化知识结构，提高学生的综合素质。

and Life" Elective Course in Medical University

Abstract Elective course is a significant component part of personal training plan and curriculum system, and it is an important way for developing students' interests, expanding their scope of knowledge, and enhancing their comprehensive qualities. This paper discusses about the necessity of this course in medical university and presents the specific teaching practice including teaching content, teaching methods and assessment methods of Chemistry and Life. Furthermore, it gives the author's thinking about how to enriching teaching content and improving the teaching effect. This course is conducive to optimizing the students' structure of knowledge, and improving their comprehensive qualities.

近年来，在教育部加强通识教育、完善本科生知识体系、提高学生综合素质的倡导之下，各个高校都切实加大了选修课的开设力度。公共选修课已成为发展学生兴趣爱好，扩大学生知识面，优化学生知识结构，提高学生文化修养的重要课程。①②

化学是一门自然科学中的基础学科，化学发展到今天，已成为人类认识自然，改造自然，进而利用自然的有力武器。纵观人类的发展史，各个阶段的社会进步、科技发展都与化学联系十分紧密。人们的日常生活中，无论是农工轻重，还是吃穿住行，甚至是许多的社会热点话题，都与化学息息相关。作为一位现代人，掌握适当的化学知识，对于我们了解当前社会热点、合理安排日常的吃穿住用，是非常具有现实意义的。③
