摘  要：高等桥梁结构理论课程一直是桥梁工程专业研究生的必修课程，也是针对留学生开放的专业课程。从2017—2018学年第一学期开始全英文授课，面向国际学生以及选择英文学习的国内学生。高等桥梁结构理论的英文版教材Advanced Theory of Bridge Structures是在中文版基础上内容适当取舍，主干内容不变，并结合教学课时和教学实践编写的全英文教材。该文首先介绍原中文版课程及教材背景，重点对英文版教材的编写思路、目录编排、选材内容特点等进行较为详细的叙述。同时，经过几年的英文版教学实践，该文也介绍英文版教学在课程建设和学生能力提升等方面的进展情况。

Abstract： The course Advanced Theory of Bridge Structures has always been a compulsory course for graduate students majoring in bridge engineering and is also a specialized course open to international students. Starting from the first semester of the 2017—2018 academic year， the course has been taught entirely in English， targeting both international students and domestic students who choose to study in English. The English version of the textbook for Advanced Theory of Bridge Structures， is based on the Chinese version with appropriate adjustments to its content while maintaining the core material. It was developed as a fully English-language textbook in conjunction with teaching hours and practical teaching experiences. This paper begins by introducing the background of the original Chinese version of the course and textbook， with a focus on providing a detailed description of the thought process behind the development， organization of the table of contents， and the distinctive features of the selected materials for the English version. Additionally， after several years of English-language teaching practice， this paper also discusses the progress of the English version in terms of course development and enhancement of student capabilities.

近些年来，我国经济建设高速发展，政治影响力持续提升。随着“一带一路”倡议的开展，大量留学生进入我国高等学校留学学习。土木工程是同济大学传统优势学科之一，中国桥梁也是我国对外宣传新名片，来桥梁系攻读硕士和博士研究生的留学生逐年增多。
