摘要：In the light of the Skopos theory and theories of contrastive linguistics， this thesis probes into the features from the lexical and syntactic level of two Chinese versions of the famous novel This Side of Paradise （Chapter 5） written by F. Scott. Fitzgerald， one is translated by Yao Naiqiang; the other is translated by Wu Jianguo. By the comparative analysis， it comes to the main findings， and they are as follows： in the word level， Yaos version shares the feature of “literal translation”， which means that many deep and important meanings， even typical collocations are excluded， While Wus bears the feature of simplification and adequacy; sentence pair study reveals that Mr. Wu has given consideration of the context and the discourse so that his appropriate choice in translation make the sentence excellent.

引言

弗朗西斯·司各特·菲茨杰拉德是上世紀最杰出的美国作家之一，在他短暂的一生中，先后创作、出版了4部长篇小说和170篇短篇小说。在创作中，菲茨杰拉德融现实主义呵呵浪漫主义于一体，汇集了丰富多彩的体裁形式和表现手法，他的语言富有节奏感，文体清秀典雅，文字鲜活灵巧。《人间天堂》是菲茨杰拉德的第一部小说，该小说的问世奠定了菲茨杰拉德成为20世纪美国最杰出作家之一的基础。小说故事十分简单，但思想内容相当深邃。许多文学评论家都对该小说赞不绝口，著名文学评论家H.L 门肯撰文评论说：“《人间天堂》的确是一部令人拍案叫绝的开创性小说—在结构上处理颇有独创性，艺术手法极为精湛，畅游神来之笔……这是我进来看过最好的一部美国小说。”正因此，《人间天堂》广受读者喜爱，吸引着众多译者为之不懈努力。如今在读者中接受程度较高的《人间天堂》译本是姚乃强和吴建国所译。本文就《人间天堂》的第五章就这两个译本在目的论知道下在诗歌的三美、词语和句子层面展开深入分析。

二 、译本对比赏析

1.从诗歌翻译中的音美、形美和意美3方面对比分析

例1：A fathom deep in sleep I lie   With old desires， restrained before，To clamor lifeward with a cry，As dark flies out the greying door; And so in quest of creeds to share. I seek assertive day again...But old monotony is there：Endless avenues of rain.

姚译：我躺下坠入深深的梦乡，梦见往日压抑的欲望，大声呼唤要求复活，像苍蝇要飞出灰暗的大门;在追求共同的信念中，我又找回了自信的日子……可是尚有旧时的单调，没有尽头的雨中街道。

吴译：在沉睡中我已越陷越深，怀着昔日的欲念、婉约的情分，一声断喝如醍醐灌顶。
