摘 要：中医与西医是中国现存的两种医学，正确了解两种医学的关系对医生和患者是非常必要的，可以消除对两种医学，尤其是对中医的误解。深入了解中医，必须明确三个方面的问题：①中医与西医的关系，不是东方与西方的关系，而是古代与现代的关系；②不能把中医的藏象与现代医学的脏器等同起来；③中医学的诊断是以“证”为单位，现代医学的诊断是以“病”为单位。

Abstract：Traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine are two kinds of medicines existing in China.Correct understanding of the relationship between the two medicines is very necessary for doctors and patients，and can eliminate misunderstandings of two kinds of medicines，especially traditional Chinese medicine.To understand traditional Chinese medicine in depth，we must clarify three aspects：①The relationship between traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine is not the relationship between the East and the West，but the relationship between ancient and modern；②The traditional Chinese medicine can not be equated with the organs of modern medicine；③The diagnosis of traditional Chinese medicine is based on“certificate”，and the diagnosis of modern medicine is based on“disease”.

中医作为中国的传统文化，属于哲学范畴，因此，学习理解中医要用哲学的方法去理解和研究，即中医的整体观辨证论治。例如，中医的脾脏堪称后天之本，气血生化之源，是维持生命活动的基本物质。而现代医学有些疾病，比如脾大性贫血严重者需要脾脏摘除，看似是一对矛盾体，因此笔者想通过三方面来探讨中医理论的特色。

1中医与西医

中医与西医的关系，不是东方与西方的关系，而是古代与现代的关系。

西医（Western Medicine）一词在中国被理解为西方的医学，从地理位置来讲，此说不无道理。但从严格的意义上讲，西医一词不足以涵盖自身的本质。因为形成这种医学的基础是现代科学，诸如解剖学、生理学、病理学、生物学、细胞学、微生物学等等。这种医学当前已经超越了地域的界限，为当今世界各国所普遍应用，所以应该叫做现代医学（Modern Medicine）。

中医（Traditional Chinese Medicine）一词被普遍理解为“传统的中国医学”，这是正确的。所谓传统，是指从古代流传下来的东西。……
