摘 要：多元智能理论是由美国心理学家霍华德·加德纳提出的创新型人类发展理论。其以哲学、神经学及认知学为研究依据，其认为人的智能是多方面的，并且是发展及作用的动态过程。人有着多种智能，而智能也有强弱之分，多元智能强调的是发展智能强项，弥补智能弱项，实现人的全面发展。多元智能理论应用于大学英语教学具有时代意义。弥补英语教学中的机械刻板的不足，关注学生潜能的开发，关注学生个体差异，尊重认同学生，带动学生兴趣的激发，切实提升英语教学质量。文章主要从多元智能理论的概念特征、教育启示及英语教学应用进行探究，以期发挥多元智能理论的积极作用，促进高校英语教学。

Abstract： The theory of multiple intelligences is an innovative human development theory proposed by American psychologist Howard Gardner. It is based on philosophy， neurology and cognitive science. It believes that human intelligence is multifaceted and is a dynamic process of development and action. People have many kinds of intelligence， but intelligence also has strong and weak points. Multiple intelligences emphasize the development of smart strength， make up for the smart weakness， and realize the all-round development of human beings. The application of multiple intelligences theory to college English teaching is of great significance. Make up for the inadequacy of English teaching in mechanical rigid， focus on the development of students' potential， focus on students' individual differences， respect students， lead to inspire students' interest， and improve English teaching quality. This paper mainly explores the concept features， education revelation and English teaching application of the theory of multiple intelligences， so as to make the theory of multiple intelligences play a positive role and promote English teaching in colleges and universities.

英語属于语言教学科目之一，英语学习的过程是跨文化交际表达的过程，素质教育背景下，高校的英语教学更关注学生语感的培养和交际能力的提升，英语教学侧重实用型人才的输出，关注学生情景交际表达适用能力。多元智能理论引入大学英语课堂，契合英语教学目标，有助于高素质英语人才的培养与输出，带动高校英语教学的创新改革。多元智能理论应用于大学英语教学，带动英语教学内容、教学方式及教学评价的创新，课堂趣味性与灵活性提升，学生发挥主体能动性，主动参与到高校英语学习中，积累信心，获得尊重与认同。……
