摘要：翻转课堂是近来国际上流行的一种新教学方法。该文通过对美国一所大学翻转微积分项目的详细介绍，探讨了美国教学革新的一些特点和模式。这其中包括了翻转过程中的研究结果，如翻转班级和非翻转班级的成绩统计比较和学生匿名调查。该文还讨论了对高等教育未来趋势的预测与思考，特别是科技发展给教学模式带来的改变。

Abstract：Flipping is a new teaching method that is growing increasingly popular around the world. In this paper we discuss some characteristics of teaching innovations in the United States through a detailed description of Flipping Calculus， a departmental project at a private university. Several important research results from this flipping project are presented， including statistical comparisons of the grades of flipping classes to those of traditional lecture classes， as well as a student attitudinal survey. Furthermore， we share our thoughts about the future development of higher education， especially changes that have been brought by the introduction of the latest educational technology.

1 翻转简介

翻转课堂是近来国际上流行的一种新教学方法，意指将传统教学的课内与课后内容互换。具体说来，就是将传统上在课内教师的讲课部分通过学生独立观看在线视频，阅读指定材料或笔记摘要等形式转移到课前进行，而将课后学生需要完成的习题和小练习等动手的部分转移到课内进行。此教学方法的主要目的在于加强学生在课堂内的参与程度，增加教师与学生以及学生之间的互动从而增强学生的学习效率，更好更深得理解知识。在翻转课堂的形式下，学生可以在课前预习上课的基本内容和简单的例子。更重要的是学生可以按照自己的程度来掌控学习的速度，随时对视频暂停，重放，或快进。对教师来说，上课时可大大减少传统的讲解和板书时间，而将大部分课堂时间用来与学生面对面的交流，根据学生在练习中遇到的困难直接并有针对性的进行帮助与指导。……
