摘 要 办学定位与办学特色，是民族院校生存与发展的前提和基础。这种定位要与社会的发展相适应；要注意与自身的发展经验和历史现实相符合；要突出自身的民族特色,为少数民族地区社会发展服务。本文以贵州民族学院为例对民族院校在定位中的经验及存在问题进行了探讨，对贵州民族学院该如何定位进行思考。

Talking about the Orientation of National Colleges

——Take Guizhou University for Nationalities as an example

Abstract Development positioning and school characteristics is the prerequisite and foundation of survival and development for the ethnic institution. This positioning should be compatible with social development, consistent with its own development experience and historical reality, highlighting their own ethnic characteristics, and serving social development in ethnic minority areas. In this paper, the experience and problems in the positioning of a ethnic institution were discussed, with the example of Guizhou University for Nationalities, to think how to locate.

1 民族院校办学定位的必要性

（1）民族院校肩负着为少数民族和民族地区服务的重任。民族院校是培养少数民族高素质人才的重要基地，是传承和弘扬各民族优秀文化的重要基地，其办学宗旨就是为少数民族和民族地区服务。“面对新形势和任务，民族院校要审时度势，坚持正确的办学方向，准确定位，积极为少数民族和民族地位服务。”①

（2）民族高校的正确定位是实现自身发展的需要。在原来计划经济体制下各个民族高校只是政府的从属机构，所培养的人才与市场的需求脱节现象比较明显，从而造成了资源的浪费。随着信息化和全球化的发展，对原有民族高校的定位提出了严峻的挑战，我国产业结构的调整，对人才的质量标准提出了更高的要求。民族高校的定位不仅要考虑到这种全局状况的变化，还要考虑到民族地区与东部发达地区之间的差异。要认准目标，量力而行，正确确认识自身的长处和弱点，对症下药，博采众长，有所为，有所不为。……
