内容摘要：斯特林·布朗是美国哈莱姆文艺复兴时期成长起来的一位诗人、文学批评家、社会学者，也是哈莱姆文艺复兴的南方文化传统开创者和丰碑。作为诗人，诗人坚守基于南方黑人民间文化进行诗歌创作的艺术信念;作为文学批评家，布朗通过构建美国非裔诗歌史，致力于确立基于美国黑人文化的诗歌美学;作为社会学者，布朗聚焦于南方黑人的生存经验及其文化实践，进一步支撑了他的南方黑人文化诗歌美学。

Title： Sterling A. Brown as a Pioneer in the Southern Tradition for the Harlem Renaissance

Abstract： Sterling A. Brown （1901-1989）rose as a poet， critic and social researcher during the Harlem Renaissance period and， meanwhile， worked as a pioneer in the southern folk tradition for this intellectual movement. As a poet， Brown developed his poetics based on the southern black folk culture in his poetry creation. As a critic， Brown made efforts in establishing his folk-based aesthetics by constructing a history of African American poetry. And as a social researcher， he focused on the study of the living experience of the southern black people， which echoed and supported his poetic aesthetic based on the southern black folk culture.

斯特林·艾倫·布朗（Sterling A. Brown，1901-1989）是哈莱姆文艺复兴运动后期的重要代表性诗人，也是哈莱姆文艺复兴文学在城市书写之外的重要代表。布朗被认为是哈莱姆文艺复兴时期最重要的民族志诗人，是为数不多的致力于探讨黑人灵歌等音乐形式作为有效的艺术形式的学者之一，被塞内加尔诗人、总统森格尔（Léopold Sédar Senghor）称为世界黑人性运动的先驱。

布朗出生于华盛顿特区的一个黑人中产阶级家庭。布朗的父亲是奴隶出身，但凭借自己而奋斗成为了美国著名黑人大学霍华德大学的神学教授。他父亲与美国黑人社会活动家的广泛交往为他的文化经历和思想形成提供了良好的条件。……
