Using the panel data of 25 provinces in China，this paper studies the regional difference in the effect of the service industrys FDI on the employment. The result indicates that the service industrys FDI has a positive effect on the employment as a whole. But the difference of its effect among different regions is obvious. Its effect is different between the inland area and the coastal area. Its effect is also different between North China and the South China. The service industrys FDI has a negative curb on employment in the coastal area compare with the inland area， its promotion to the employment is weaker in South China compare with North China. This paper puts forward some suggestion based on the analysis： increase the intensity of service industry FDI in inland areas，improve the level of service industry openness of central and western regions，the coastal areas should transfer their manufacturing enterprises to inland to motivate the services sector there，optimize the structure of the service industry FDI in coastal areas.
