获奖理由

基于她超拔的审美天赋和出众的洞悉力，史密斯将人类视野置于地外时空，借助于一枚哈勃望远镜的镜头，回眸我们的现实和历史，拓展人类精神生活新视野。在对“宇宙”这一充满未知的精神场域既定的接近，和永恒的距离感之中，激活了人类诗性的另一面，展开了别开生面的“星际生活”，唤醒了对最不可捉摸人类命运的记忆，而此种冥思的落脚处，却依然是人间烟火，是生活哲学，这正是史密斯诗歌的高超之处。

获奖感言

I am deeply grateful to accept the Red Rock Prize of Literature. It is one thing to have readers in one's own city， region， country. And it is quite another to discover that one's work has made its way to a community that transcends borders of geography and language. That tremendous reach of poetry was what drew me to the page first as a reader， finding myself entranced by poets of another time and poets whose work spoke to me of worlds that existed beside mine but with which I was completely unfamiliar. Poetry made the world at once vaster and smaller； richer and more available to me. I still believe that this is the chief task of poetry， inviting readers into a deeper and more life-giving relationship with the everyday， with others， with their own inner lives. I am humbled， and elated， to learn that my work has been not only translated for readers of the Chinese language recognized， but also by an esteemed jury of readers and editors. Thank you.

接受红岩文学奖我深怀感激。在自己的城市、地区、国家拥有读者是一回事；而发现自己的作品超越地理和语言的边界到另一个社会，又是另一回事。诗歌的巨大延伸力是当初吸引我打开书卷成为读者的重要因素，发现自己着迷于另一年代的诗人们，以及那些用作品向我描述着存在于我的世界旁边、但又完全陌生的世界的诗人们。诗歌使世界迅即变得更加开阔，也更小；对我来说更丰富，也更触手可及。我依然相信这是诗歌的首要任务，邀请读者进入更深而更赋予生命的，和每一天、和他人、和他们内心生活的关联。得知我的作品不仅被翻译给汉语读者，并且为受人尊敬的读者和编辑组成的评委会所认可，我很惭愧，而又兴高采烈，谢谢你们！
