摘 要 作为两次世界大战期间兴起的一股艺术设计潮流，“装饰艺术运动”被认为是国际上第一股席卷全球的世界性流行时尚。当以法国及美国为首的“装饰艺术运动”在西方因经济萧条而正行衰落之时，该潮流在中国却仍然十分兴盛。这一潮流不但对建筑设计大有影响，而且扩散至家具、雕刻、绘画、招贴、服装、陶瓷、玻璃器皿及珠宝首饰设计等与日常生活密切相关的方方面面。上海作为其时“装饰艺术运动”在中国的流行中心，至今仍保留着众多来匈牙利、法国、美国、英国、俄国以及国内等各地而来的设计师所设计的建筑遗存。这些设计展现出了一种“中西合璧”的“装饰艺术运动”趣味，反映出了该潮流在中国发展变化的过程中日渐趋向“本土化”的特征。

Art Déco and the Fashionable Design of China in the Early 20th Century

Abstract Art Deco， popular between the two World Wars， is widely considered to be the first art style to break geographical boundaries and gain worldwide popularity. While it is not uncommon to see Art Deco designs and artworks in France and the US， one might be surprised to know that the influence of Art Deco is also significant in China， especially in the Chinese cites at that time. Besides buildings， the Art Deco style was fast spreading including furniture， sculptures， paintings， posters， costumes， ceramic glassware， vases， jewelry， cosmetic cases and other precious objects used in everyday life. Shanghai as the most international collection of Art Deco in the China， with buildings designed by architects from the US， China， Hungary， Russia， France and the UK. It also has a unique hybrid of vernacular architecture—a Chinese Art Deco style that melds Eastern and Western elements， and it displays the development and change of Art Deco style in China.
