Since the 18th century, Western artists have gradually tried to get rid of the depiction of the figurative world and continue to try new painting styles, using abstract and twisted strokes, deformed human bodies to convey their feelings about life and their unique painting charm. Subsequently, the principle of formal beauty of painting and design is more and more overlapping and coincident with the development of each other. Then, what are the main aspects of the application of design thinking in oil painting creation?

(1)The application of color language

As an important artistic language of painting, color is the external representation of painting and the reflection of artist's visual emotion. In modern painting, the content and theme of oil painting are gradually weakened, not emphasizing rigorous perspective and accurate light-shadow relationship, the picture began to tend to plane and decorative sense. With the passage of time, no matter how the focus of oil painting has changed, but as an important factor in emotional expression, color has always been in an important position in oil painting.In the 19th century, painters' interest in objective imitation of nature became less and less, and the development of photography and physics also made a great impact on the traditional painting art. These factors So that artists have to look for a different form of painting from the traditional realistic painting. Artist's study of color began to increase.

The form of color is for the purpose of expressing the theme of painting, whether it is the pure rational composition of color or the subjective color of expressing the artist's emotion, it is presented for the better performance of the artist's painting purpose. Through the design of the color in the picture, to express the real mind. Symbolism representative painter Monk's oil painting, through strong color contrast to convey the artist's inner horror. With the change of human cognition, aesthetics and emotion, the color is used to show the artist's emotion and make the picture have certain sequence at the same time. The grass-to-grass paintings use circles and dots filled with pictures to show a strong impact.

(2)The application of composition of a picture language

Under the influence of the planarization of the oriental painting, the modern artists began to pursue the formal beauty of the decorative oil painting because of the rebellion against the classical traditional thought and the influence of the planarization of the oriental painting.Single purification and ordering become another form of presentation of some painters' pictures. Modern decorative oil painting no longer follows the law of objective object image in the composition of the picture, but arranges and arranges the image theme position according to the need of the theme expression. Different from traditional painting, artists can no longer worry about the location of the theme of the picture, and the application of design and decoration in oil painting makes the composition of the picture more diverse. (3)The application of modeling language

Before the 16 ~ (th) century, Western paintings served politics and religion, and the themes of paintings were mostly adaptations of myths. In order to better represent the theme of painting, artists often need to carefully design the image and dynamics of mythological characters. Because artists have different ideas, a theme drawn by different artists will have different form effects. Over the next few centuries, artists also designed themes based on their own ideas. With the strengthening of artist's subjective consciousness in painting, some oil painting artists should not only present objective gods in painting. State, and will be designed and recreated on the basis of objective form to enhance the representation of the picture or theme. Yuan Yunsheng's masterpiece "Water splashing Festival" is a typical example of many objective objects being recreated. The design of the characters in the screen shows the author's strong subjective emotional factors. Therefore, the wide variety of contemporary aesthetic needs, but also requires artists to improve their painting vision, personal accomplishment and broaden the scope of knowledge in order to keep pace with the development of the art of the times.
