Abstract Postgraduate social practice means that postgraduates use their holidays to carry out planned and purposeful social practice activities outside school. Strengthening social practice is an important way to improve the quality and comprehensive quality of postgraduate training， and it is of great significance to train applied talents suitable for the needs of the times. Based on the background of big data era， this paper analyses the problems existing in the social practice of graduate students， and puts forward some suggestions to improve the social practice of graduate students. It is an eternal proposition and mission for universities to do well in social practice of postgraduates. It requires cooperation between universities and local governments and enterprises to guarantee the postgraduates' comprehensive quality in human， financial and material resources， so as to help postgraduate education better meet the needs of society.

当我们从数据时代跨越进入大数据时代，世界已经悄然发生重大变化，“人人皆可成才”已经可以被窥见，“大数据”经常性在各级政府工作报告中出现，对大数据的时代认识已经上升到了国家层面。国家主席习近平在对2018中国国际大数据产业博览会的贺信中指出，“当前，以互联网、大数据、人工智能为代表的新一代信息技术日新月异，给各国经济社会发展、国家管理、社会治理、人民生活带来重大而深远的影响。把握好大数据发展的重要机遇，促进大数据产业健康发展，处理好数据安全、网络空间治理等方面的挑战，需要各国加强交流互鉴、深化溝通合作”。清华大学原校长顾秉林提出“大数据时代到来，是数据积累由量变到质变的结果。大数据人才以前我们没有，高等教育今后要义不容辞地率先作出调整，提前做好人才储备”。大数据时代背景下，对人才的培养要求扎实的理论功底外，那些“召之即来、来之能战”的即插即用式人才更加受到各个行业的青睐，而这些备受关注的人才的培养除了课业学习之外，更大程度上依赖于实践的磨练。

《教育部关于进一步加强和改进研究生思想政治教育的若干意见（教思政2010（11）》中明确提出“要强化研究生实践教育环节，将社会实践纳入研究生培养方案，作为研究生培养的必要环节”。习近平在党的十九大报告中提出，“人才是实现民族振兴、赢得国际竞争主动的战略资源。……
