今天，中国的环境问题是美国环保协会关注的重点之一。如果没有中美两国的合作，世界上许多严峻的环境问题是不可能得到有效解决的。奥巴马总统和习近平主席都意识到了这点，并于去年11月在北京举行的APEC会议上宣布了各自的国家控排承诺。

近年来，很多中国的企业加快了对外投资的速度。中国已经在2014年成为资本的净输出国。新成立的亚投行就是中国经济发展的一个标志。从这些数字不难看出，中国已经成为世界经济强国。

中国企业、中国投资、中国文化都已经走向了世界。在此，我们不禁要问，中国组织为什么不能走出去呢？

Today, China's environmental problems are an important focus for EDF. Many of the world's most severe environmental problems cannot be solved without cooperation between our two countries. President Obama and President Xi recognized this when they both made announcements about national commitments to control carbon emissions this past November at the APEC meeting hosted in Beijing.

In the 30 plus years of opening up and reform, China has experienced incredible economic development that has impressed the world. Currently, China's annual GDP exceeds 10 trillion USD, with an urbanization rate over 50%. By some measures, China has the world's largest economy.

In recent years, many Chinese enterprises have ramped-up their foreign investments at an increasing pace. China is likely to become a net capital exporter soon. The formation of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank is more than tangible evidence of this statement. It is evident from these numbers that China is a strong global economic power.

Chinese companies, Chinese investment, Chinese culture all going abroad. We have to ask - should Chinese environmental organizations cross the boundary as well?
