近二十年汉语新词英译探析
——汉语新词英译中的异化趋向

作为语言中最活跃组成部分,词汇直接体现一个民族和国家的文化、政治和经济的发展。新词语是社会的一面镜子,它能直观迅速地反映社会的发展,历史上社会发展的时期往往也是新词语产生的高峰时期。在文化、经济全球化的今天,新词的翻译也极其重要,尤其对语言文化的传播。通过对对汉语新词的定义、来源的了解,分析新词翻译中存在的困难。为了解决这些问题,运用奈达的功能对等理论提出新词翻译的评价准则及其基本策略,并通过实例研究证明异化策略在汉语新词翻译中的使用倾向。

Abstract:Vocabulary,as the most active component in a language,reflects the culture,politics and economy developments. Neologism is just like a mirror to the society which reflects the social developments directly and rapidly.The social development periods are usually the peak time of word producing.In the globalization today,the translation of neologisms is of prime importance,especially in promoting the transmission of language and culture.The writer begins with the researches into neologisms definition and origins,significance and difficulties of the translation of Chinese neologisms.Then borrow Eugene A.Nida's theory of functional equivalence to improve the current conditions of Chinese neologism translation and find the translation strategies.Finally,based on sample analysis,the author presents foreignization strategy in Chinese neologisms translation.

语言作为社会交流的工具,反映社会生活的变化,社会的变化又通过当时的词汇表现出来。社会发展与语言的这种相互依存的关系同样也通过新词得以证明,新词被明显赋予社会、文化以及历史的特点。能产性强可以说是当今汉语新词语的一个相当突出的特点。据统计,当前汉语中每年产生的新词约有一千个左右,平均每天产生三个。《新词语大词典》(上海辞书出版社2003年12月版)收录1978～2002年共二十五年产生的新词语两万条。这样计算,平均每年有八百条。随着新词的不断增加,将它们翻译成英语、让世界更好的了解中国,已成为翻译工作者们的挑战。翻译者面临不仅要尽可能多的提供译本,而且要探寻出翻译过程中可行的准则。……
