民俗事象的文化含义
——以现代乡土小说为解读文本

某种物事一旦进入传统习俗之中，作为一种文化符号，其社会承载就会自然增加。从文化审美意义上看，在现代乡土作家笔下，民俗既是人物具体活动的背景，又是人物行为的心理渊源:喝年糕汤，吃烙饼，吃讲茶，这些在现实生活中比较凝固的物质民俗具有强大的文化功能。现代乡土文学家们思考的是中国人应该如何从文化的阴影中摆脱出来，过一种更健全、更正常、更合理的生活，因此在小说文本中得到展示的民俗事象的文化含义就在于其深刻的历史批判意识和反思色彩。

Abstract:Being a kind of cultural sign，the society loading will be naturally increased once some certain thing has gotten into traditional custom．From cultural aesthetic sense，folk－customs are both background figures of specific activities and also behavioral mental origin of the person in the modern native writer’s novels．New Year’s pudding soup，pancake and stating－tea，these customs with more concretionary material in the reality of people’s life have strong cultural function．As for the age of folk on display，what the modern local literature writers think of is how the Chinese people get away from this kind of culture’s deep shadow and live a sound，more normal and more reasonable life．So it has profound critical consciousness of history and reflection flavor of culture by the cultural implication of folk－customs things and phenomenon．

民俗中有陋习恶俗，而更多的民俗事象呈现出中性色彩，很难从道德、伦理、科学等方面对之进行简单分析和评价。作家对这些民俗事象的描写，用“异域情调来开拓读者的心胸，或者炫耀他的眼界”时，显示出乡土文学的写实风格。对于特定风俗中人的现实行为的描写，多数现代乡土作家态度是一致的，都采取了较客观的立场。不论是注重风俗，还是强调人物，都将中国近现代背景预置其中，不仅使风俗的展示排除了对地域风情的简单猎奇，而且使人物活动在这预置背景的映照下有了特定的文化含义。

民族文化、民俗涵养，陶冶了作家的人格、气质和心灵，再通过受感染的心灵和独特的审美意识去观照民族文化、描写民俗，双向的能动作用使情形变得复杂，进入作品中的民俗经过作家的选择和改造，有认同有变异。……
