1．like doing sth．与like to do sth．

like doing sth．的意思是“喜欢做某事(指经常或习惯性的行为、爱好)”；而like to do sth．也表示“喜欢做某事(指具体或一次性的行为)”如：

She likes reading．她喜欢读书。

They like to play basketall on this playground.

他们喜欢在这个操场上打篮球。

2． go on doing sth．与go on to do sth．

go on doing sth．的意思是“继续做(原来正在做的事)”；而go on to do sth．则表示“继续做(另一件事)”。如：

He goes on reading the book．他继续读书。

I went on to do my homework after I watched TV．我看完电视后继续做作业。

3．remember doing sth．与remember to do sth．

remember doing sth．的意思是“记得过去曾经做过某事”，指动作已经发生了；而remember to do sth．则表示“记着要去做某事”，指动作还没发生。如：

I remember seeing him somewhere．我记得在某一地方见过他。

I remember to post the letter today．今天我要记着寄这封信。

4．forget doing sth．与forget to do sth．

forget doing sth．的意思是“忘记了曾经做过某事”，指动作已经发生了；而forget to do sth．则表示“忘记了要去做某事”，指动作还没发生。如：

I forgot telling her about it.我忘记我已把这事告诉她了。

Dont forget to turn off the lights before you leave．在你离开之前别忘记关灯。

5．stop doing sth.与stop to do sth．

stop doing sth.的意思是“停止正在做的某件事”；而stop to do sth．则表示“停下来(原来的事)去做另一件事”。如：

Stop talking．别讲话。

He stopped to have a talk with his friend on his way home．

在回家的路上他停下来和他的朋友讲话。

6．hard与hardly

hard具有形容词和副词两种词性，意思是“硬的，强烈的，难对付的，努力地，艰苦地”等意思；而hardly则表示“几乎不，简直不(常用作 “不”的委婉语)。如：

He is hard to get along with．他这人很难打交道。

I hardly know you．我几乎不了解你。

7．so that与so．．．that

so that的意思是“以便，为了”，引导目的状语从句；而so...that则表示“如此……以至于……”，引导结果状语从句。如：

Speak loudly， so that everyone can hear you clearly．说话大声点儿，以便每个人都能听清楚。

He is so careless that he often makes mistakes in his exams．他是如此粗心以至于经常在考试中犯错误。
