摘要：禁忌语是人类社会特有而且普遍的文化现象，自上个世纪80年代开始国内外学者对禁忌语进行了多方位，深层次的研究，如禁忌语的产生、类别、特征、语用等。本文试从语音隐喻的层面着手对禁忌语做一步的解释，帮助学习者更加深入的了解和掌握禁忌语，以期在跨文化交际中更加得体、自如地使用所学语言。

Abstract： Taboo language is a unique and universal cultural phenomenon in human society. Since 1980s， scholars at home and abroad have made a multi-faceted and in-depth study of taboo language， such as its generation， categories， characteristics and pragmatics. This paper tries to explain taboo words from the perspective of phonetic metaphor， so as to help learners understand and master taboo words more deeply and use the learned language more appropriately and freely in cross-cultural communication.

一、研究背景

早期对禁忌语的研究主要从三方面进行：社会学、人类学和人种学。二十世纪六十年代，外国学者在的就对禁忌语进行了相关的研究，较为有代表性的著作Totem and Taboo，Taboo， Truth and Religion ，Don' t Do It： A Dictionary of the Forbidden 及Do' s and Taboos Around the World。近年来，国内学者对禁忌语的产生、类别、特征、语用、差异及其原因进行了大量的研究。

二、禁忌语和语音隐喻

（一）禁忌语的定义和起源

禁忌语，英文单词是“taboo words”，《牛津高阶英汉双解词典》将其解释为：words likely to be considered offensive， shocking or indecent by certain people （though not necessarily by everyone）。

国际学术界将“禁忌”这个词统称为“塔布”，“塔布”源于中太平洋波利尼西亚群岛土语，其含义是“神圣的”，“不可触摸的”。英语音译为taboo 或tabu， 这个词后来进入了人类学，人种学和社会学领域，作为一种特殊的专用名词而被广泛使用。

（二）隱喻与语音隐喻

隐喻在传统修辞法中被认为是比喻的一种，是指本体和喻体之间的关系。认知语言学认为隐喻是一种思维方式，对我们认识世界有潜在的、深刻的影响。Lakoff 和Johnson在《我们赖以生存的隐喻》这本书开篇中就强调了隐喻的认知作用： Metaphor is pervasive in everyday life， not just in language but in thought and action.

福纳吉在其论文 “Why Iconicity”中首次提出“语音隐喻”， 福纳吉主要从语音的发音方式与其所表意义这一角度进行论述。……
