曼彻斯特博物馆

曼彻斯特是一个非常特别的城市，虽然它只是英国的第四大城市，人口也只有51万，却是英国重要的交通枢纽与商业、金融、工业、文化的中心。这个底气十足的“北方之都”还是英国棉纺织业的发祥地，是这个专业范围之内的世界之最，至今还可以在郊外的利兹工业博物馆见其一斑。作为世界上最早的工业化城市，曼彻斯特在工业的许多领域引领了世界发展的潮流，这些还可以从1983年开馆的曼彻斯特科学与工业博物馆中看到潮流初起时期的一些遗迹，通过它了解曼彻斯特的纺织、能源、通信、航空、交通等产业的发展和成就。
