世界环境日为每年的6月5日，它的确立反映了世界各国人民对环境问题的认识和态度，表达了人类对美好环境的向往和追求。

World Environment Day is 1）commemorated each year on June 5th， starting from 1974， which is established by the United Nations General Assembly for raising global 2）awareness to take actions to protect the nature. The establishment of World Environment Day shows people's the 3）cognition and the attitude to the environmental problem， and expresses our human beings' desire of pursuing the better environment. Every year the United Nations environment program proposes a theme， and the theme of this day in 2021 is “ecosystem restoration”， focusing on “restoring the relationship between human beings and nature”， which aims to prevent， contain and reverse global ecosystem 4）degradation and repair damaged ecosystems in response to the global climate crisis， protect 5）biodiversity and enhance food security and water supply.

Eng Anderson， Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme， said， “2020 is a year worthy of reflection， with the planet facing multiple crises， including the spread of global epidemics and the continued

deterioration of climate， nature and pollution. In 2021， we must take cautious steps to turn the situation around and turn the corner. In this process， we must realize that the restoration of nature is essential to the survival of the earth and human beings.”

World Environment Day can be celebrated in lots of ways， for instances， planting trees， doing some recycling， participating the clean-up campaigns and so on. Certainly， people can also do something simple， like going to work by bus instead of private cars. I believe if everyone takes environmental actions as a habit， we are doing a big difference for the better environment.

世界環境日为每年的6月5日，自1974年开始设立，它是联合国为了提高全球的环保意识而设立。环境日的设立展现了人们对环境问题的认识和态度，表达了人们对美好环境的追求和渴望。每年联合国环境规划署都会提出一个环境日主题，2021年世界环境日将以“生态系统恢复”为主题，聚焦“恢复人类与自然的关系”，旨在预防、遏制并扭转全球生态系统退化趋势，修复被破坏的生态系统，以应对全球气候危机，保护生物多样性，增强粮食安全和水的供应。

联合国环境规划署执行主任英格·安德森指出：“2020年是值得反思的一年，地球面临着多重危机，包括全球疫情蔓延以及气候、自然和污染的持续恶化。2021年，我们必须采取谨慎步骤，扭转局势，转危为安。在这一过程中，我们必须认识到自然的恢复对于地球和人类的生存而言都至关重要。”

庆祝世界环境日的方式多种多样，如植树、对废物进行循环利用、参加清洁行动等。当然，人们也可以做些简单的小事来尽一分力，比如说不开车而改乘公交车去上班。我相信只要大家都将这些环保小事当作习惯，我们将会为建造美好环境做出重大贡献。
