教学内容:

鲁教版义务教育教科书《英语》(五四学制)八年级下册 Unit 2 It’s a nice day,isn’t it?Section B 2b-2c 涉及的语法点为反义疑问句。通过Section A 部分的铺垫学习,学生已经对反义疑问句有了初步的认识,能够用其进行基本的对话。本节课的话题“闲聊”则以阅读课的形式让学生以全新的视角学习反义疑问句在文章中的应用,从而引导学生可以运用简短的文章来描述如何在特定场合用适当的话题开始闲聊,培养与陌生人交流的能力。

教学目标:

1.语言知识目标:

学习重点词汇:everyday,introduction,dialog,period,empty,business,basic,private,subject,avoid,form,worker,helpful,customer,light,humorous

学习重点短语:small talk,break the ice,empty silence,wait in line

掌握重点句型:make sb.do sth. 和 It’s+adj+for sb.+to do sth.,达到听、说、读、写四会,并熟练使用目标句型。

2.语言技能目标:学会如何与陌生人展开交谈。

3.情感态度目标:通过对“闲话”的初步学习,使学生了解不同文化背景下对于闲聊的认识以及适当的选择闲聊内容,培养与陌生人交流的能力,进而帮助学生们学会倾听与共情。

教学重点:

掌握重点词汇,通过一系列阅读理解活动理解反义疑问句的含义,掌握其结构并能熟练运用。

教学方法:任务型教学法、交际法

教学手段:多媒体辅助教学

教学过程:

Step ⅠLeading-in

T:Good morning,my class.

Ss:Good morning,teacher.

T:We’ve learned the tag question before.But do you know when we usually use it?

Ss:No.

T:We usually use it to introduce a small talk.But what is small talk? Let’s watch a video clip to learn about it and then answer the two questions on the screen.

Ss:OK.

(Play the video.)

T:OK.Who’s got the answers?

S1:Small talk is a kind of short conversation between strangers.

S2:We usually talk about weather,hobbies or something else in small talk.

T:Correct.So today we’re going to learn more about small talk.

设计意图:学生通过观看有关于闲话的短片,初步了解闲话的功能。让学生初步感知它的用法,为下面的学习打好基础。

Step ⅡPre-reading

T:We can see there is a picture and a title in this passage.They are very important.We can predict what we will read.

S3:Maybe we will learn how to use a small talk.

S4:We may also learn when we should use it.

T:Yes.Now let’s listen to the tape and find out the proper title of each paragraph to check whether our predictions are right.(Play the tape and then check the answers.)

设计意图:让学生根据文章标题及插图猜测文章大意,然后通过听力练习检验自己的猜测并找出各段小标题。激发学生的好奇心,为阅读训练做好铺垫。

StepⅢWhile- reading

T:We’ve just used a new reading strategy to get the main idea of the passage.That is Predicting using topic sentences.But if we want to know more,we have to read it again carefully.Now let’s turn to next task--scanning.Please read the first paragraph carefully and try to fill in the chart.

(Students read.Then check the answers.)

T:From this paragraph we know the small talk is so useful.But who usually use it? Let’s read paragraph 2 and choose TRUE or FALSE.

(Students read.Then check the answers.)

T:So many people will use small talk when necessary ,but is it only in western countries? Let’s read paragraph 3 and choose the right answers.

(Students read.Then check the answers.)

T:The small talk is so relaxing.Can we talk about everything? Do you still remember the topic of it in the video we’ve watched at the beginning of the class?

Ss:Weather,hobbies and so on.

T:Good memory.Are the topics the same in different countries?

Ss:Maybe not.

T:Let’s read paragraph 4 and 5 and find out the answers.This time the task is a little difficult ,you have to rewrite the paragraph.So please read and think carefully.You can have a discussion with your partner.Are you ready?

Ss:Yes.

T:Let’s go.

设计意图:通过两种阅读技巧引出的六种阅读任务,层层递进,由简到难,让学生迅速抓住文章重点,了解文章大意,完成相关练习。各项任务形式不同,参照中考阅读题型设置,让学生真正地在阅读课上得到实战练习,提前熟悉中考题型。

StepⅣPost-reading

T:About the small talk,we’ve learned so much .Do you still remember it?

Ss:Yes.

T:OK.Let’s check.(smiling)As you can see,there is a graph on the screen.It’s the mind map of the small talk.Now let’s try to retell the passage according to it one by one.Then the first group to finish is the winner.Are you ready?Move!

(Students answer one by one.)

T:All of you did a good job in this class.Small talk is very useful in our daily life.So next time ,when you come across a stranger,don’t be shy or afraid.You can start your conversation with small talk.

设计意图:让学生根据思维导图能够自己复述出small talk 的安全话题、礼貌引语以及特点。为课后背诵做铺垫。以小组接龙竞赛的形式完成全班范围的口语操练,让每一名学生都有机会开口说英语。既有竞争的趣味性,又能在最短时间内让更多的人参与到课堂中来。

T:How time flies.Do you remember what we’ve learned today?

Ss:The small talk.

Ss:Almost every one will use small talk.

Ss:Different countries have different topics of small talk.

Ss:Small talk can make us relaxed especially between strangers.

T:Excellent.(Highlight the small talk.)

设计意图:学生通过自己总结本节课所学到的内容,达到对新知识学习的深入理解。

StepⅥHomework

1.If you are a student of a senior high school,what will you say to your desk mate on the first day?

2.Write a short passage on how to make a successful small talk.

设计意图:作业分层布置,更能体现出因材施教。让每一个学生都能完成适合自己水平的作业。

反思:

阅读课是初中英语的教学重点,中考中阅读的分数比重也是比较大的。教师在日常的阅读教学中,要不断钻研、学习,给学生呈现出一节节精彩纷呈的阅读课。本堂课采用了多种教学手段,如启发法、演示法等,循序渐进地帮助学生感知、熟悉、掌握small talk 的用法。随着信息技术在阅读课的广泛应用,我也不断地尝试在阅读教学中多采用多媒体教学手段,以求更好地调动学生的学习兴趣。本节课通过视频导入让学生初步了解什么是small talk,通过语境提示帮助学生透彻理解与应用small talk,既给学生提供原汁原味的英语学习素材,也让学生在学习中更本土化地了解国外的风俗习惯。

一系列精心编写的中考题型的练习题让本堂阅读课做到了阅读并能理解其义。提前感知中考,熟悉题型。让学生在读中练,练中提。读前预测、课后总结等都体现了“以学生为主体,以教师为主导”的教学原则。复述活动以小组PK的形式进行,增加了学生的参与兴趣,调动了全班学生的参与度。做到了学以致用,使学生的听说读写能力得到了锻炼,培养了英语思维。
