Zhou Hongru was born in Beijing in 1951. He started to learn painting since 1960 and was lucky enough to be taught by many senior painters. After decades of practice， he had made unique achievements on Chinese painting art. In 1985， Zhou Hongru was invited to visit California and held more than 20 personal exhibitions during the visit. He won various titles and awards in the United States， and his artworks were collected by collectors in the United States， Canada and Japan. Since 2015， he settled down in Beijing， and devoted the rest of his life to depict the great landscape of China. He strived to advocate Chinese culture under the Belt and Road Initiative， and make Chinese brush and ink culture glorious on the stage of world art.

周鴻儒，1951年生于北京，9岁开始习画，又幸得王羽仪、王雪涛、秦仲文、谢诗妮等名画家悉心指导，并与钱容之先生学习中国画鉴赏，日后更精心研究清新罗山人画法，将各名家精髓融会贯通，多年研习经典，在中国绘画艺术上取得了独特成就。

1985年，周鸿儒先生应邀赴美国加州举办个人画展，旅美期间先后在洛杉矶、纽约、休斯敦、芝加哥等地举办过20余场个展，并用10年时间完成《美国大峡谷名山万里图》百米长卷。他的作品展出后荣获金钥匙、荣誉市民、文化特使等称号，休斯敦市宣布1996年6月29日为“周鸿儒日”。其作品多为美国、加拿大、日本等国名人收藏。

2004年周鸿儒先生在上海举办画展，2005年到家乡山东举办绘画捐赠仪式，之后回国参加多项艺文活动，2015年定居北京。2016、2019年在欧美同学会举办歌颂祖国山水画个展，均获好评。

挥笔不住，将祖国大好河山画好，并在国家一带一路倡导下，做好文化艺术宣传，让中国笔墨艺术在世界舞台绽放光彩，是周鸿儒先生的余生夙愿。
