谭峥:坡屋面定律

坡屋面是当代建筑中常被误用的元素,当屋面的坡度脱离了传统的结构、功能与仪式的限定后,极易沦为符号与装饰。坡屋面的“破局”有如下选项——或重构一种非垂直-水平体系的地形;或重建认知、身体与空间对象的关系;或定义空间的向背、动静、亲疏关系。华之毅时尚艺术中心的坡屋面正回应了上述的几个对策,客观上它延续了一个关于坡屋面的建筑学研究纲领,并探索坡屋面的当代运用定律。

华之毅时尚中心运用其螺旋上升的坡屋面重构了场地地形,在一整体屋檐下协调了因功能需要而高度、体量迥异的单体建筑,并界定了一个有弹性边界的内向庭院空间。在紧张的基地条件约束下,整个建筑群被设计为一个合院,4栋单体分别由4幅不同坡度的内向单坡屋面覆盖,屋面相对墙体均有不同程度的延展,四侧屋面呈螺旋式依次降低,最后在内院变成地下订货大厅的屋顶,事实上融为地形的一部分,屋面的坡度也随之依次趋向平缓舒展,至东侧坡屋面则最迫近身体的高度,以一种更亲和的姿态欢迎访客。东与北侧两幅屋面相交处的“裂缝”也呼应了这一进入方向,“裂缝”之下是深远出檐下的宽适入口空间。

整个混凝土梁柱及楼屋面体系预期采用竹篾纹模板浇筑,柱间部分与屋架底均使用高性能竹基纤维复合材料(竹钢)百叶围护,柱间的竹钢百叶呈规律的折线波浪形,与幕墙形成双层围护体系,混凝土的粗糙与竹钢的纤柔因其共同的竹纹理而统一。整个建筑群的屋顶用传统的望板裸筑,这是有意识地与已经被符号化的瓦屋面保持距离,三号楼的坡屋面局部打开,为所覆盖的屋顶花园提供自然采光,这一处理手法与地下订货大厅的光井(小下沉庭院)形成呼应,更贯彻了坡屋面与场地地形的融合规律。

TAN Zheng: Rule of Pitched Roofs

Pitched roof is a commonly misused element in modern architecture. When pitched roof is derived from the limitation of traditional structure, function and rite, it's very likely to become a mere symbol and decoration. There are several options for the "breaking"of the pitched roof: reconstructing a non-verticalhorizontal-system terrain; recreating the relationship between cognition, body and spatial objects; or def i ning the orientation, movement and intimacy relationship of space. The HWA Cultural Centre answered to the above strategies. Objectively, it extended the architectural research programme of pitched roofs, and explored the modern application rule of pitch roofs.

HWA Cultural Centre reconstructed the site terrain using spirally ascending pitch roofs, integrated single buildings with different heights and volumes depending on their functions under one whole roof,and defined an inward courtyard space with flexible boundaries. Under the tight limitation of the site,the whole group of buildings was designed to form one courtyard. Four single buildings were covered by 4 different single pitched roofs respectively, and the roofs all extended the walls to some extents. Four roofs spirally descended in order, and ended up as the basement rooftop in the courtyard, and became a part of the terrain. The slopes of the roofs also gradually turned flat, with the roof on the east side closest to the height of a body, and welcomed the guests in a friendlier manner. The "crack" between the roofs on the east and north sides also emphasized this entry direction. Under the "crack" is the comfortable entry space that spread far under the roof.

The entire concrete frame and slats are expected to be cast using bamboo pattern formwork. Highperformance bamboo fiber composite (bamboo steel) louvres are used for the walls between columns and the ceilings. The bamboo steel louvres between columns present a regular polyline wave, and form a double enclosure together with the screen wall.The ruggedness of concrete and the softness of bamboo steel are united together by the common bamboo texture. The roofs of the whole building group were built with plain traditional sheathing, to deliberately keep distance from the symbolized tile roofs. Part of the pitched roof on Building No.3 was opened to provide natural sunlight for the rooftop garden it covers. This method is similar as used for the basement light well (small sunken garden). 设计条件

基地:现有的基础与地下室需要保留和利用;使用:为艺术/服装的收藏/展示,服装表演,订货,报告/讲座,书店,餐饮/咖啡/品酒等提供性质、尺度差异较大的空间。

形式

经过反复组织和简化,我们决定采用一个连续盘旋上升的单坡顶统一5个体量不同的单体建筑,同时围合出一个庭院,即赋予复杂的群体一个明确的形式关系。

空间

多种多样的功能和三度倾斜的屋顶创造了室内空间的丰富性。围绕院落,深檐提供了一系列半室外空间。天花板构成一个在室内和室外绵延且变化的体系,调节不同空间之间、空间与结构构件之间的关系。

结构+材料

我们利用混凝土框架结构和剪力墙的结合,塑造出质量各异的空间,并在多处也显现出现浇混凝土。提供遮阳与遮挡的格栅和天花板均以竹钢为材料。屋面用瓦采取传统的粘土望砖。整体呈现出一种“土木”的调性。

目前阶段

开始施工。已进行5轮混凝土模板试验,决定采用蓆纹质感。□

Design conditions

Site: The existing foundation and basement need to be retained and utilized in the new design.Program: To provide spaces of different qualities and scales for art/garment collections and displays,fashion shows, procurement fair, workshops/lectures, bookstore, and restaurants/cafe/wine tasting.

Form

After a series of tests and simplifications,we decided to use a continuous spiral of a singlepitched roof to unify five buildings with different volumes while enclosing a courtyard in the center.In other words, a clear formal relationship is given to a complex group.

Space

Rich programs and a three-dimensional tilt of the roof create a great variety of interior spaces.Surrounding the courtyard, deep eaves provide a series of semi-outdoor spaces. The ceilings form a flexible system that stretches from indoors to outdoors, mediating the relationship among different spaces, as well as between spaces and structural components.

Structure + Material

We use a combination of concrete frame system and shear walls to produce spaces of diverse qualities, and reveal cast in-situ concrete in multiple places. Both the grating on the elevations and ceilings that provide shading and screening are made of bamboo fibre reinforced polymer. The roof is clad with Wangzhuan or traditional clay ceiling bricks.Due to the natural appearance of the materials chosen, the entire complex gives an overall feel of"Tu Mu" (earth and wood).

Current phase

Under construction. Five rounds of concrete formwork tests were completed and the woven mat texture was finally chosen.□
