Abstract:The level of histone acetylation affects the chromatin structure directly. With the optimal chromatin structure genetic material is successfully and completely copied, which ensures the high fidelity of genetic material between different generations and is a key determinant of genome stability.A large number of studies have shown that the role of protein acetylation is much more complex.Histone acetylation not only affects the transfer and expression of genetic material, but also with the non-histone acetylation plays an important role in the DNA damage and repair at the same time. This review introduces numerous examples of histone and non-histone acetylation and illustrates the mechanism of their effects on maintaining genome integrity and chromosome stability in detail.
