Geek一词在美国俚语中意指拥有极高天赋、痴迷于某个自己感兴趣的领域，但却不擅长与人打交道的怪胎和技术宅人。他们在普通人眼里可谓是高智商、低情商的典型代表。可是随着美剧《生活大爆炸》(The Big Bang Theory)的热播，怪胎们似乎打了一场漂亮的翻身仗，剧中被中国粉丝称为“谢耳朵”的Sheldon更是拥有超高的人气。谢耳朵雷人的冷笑话、怪异的思维模式，甚至长短T恤叠穿的穿衣法都成了粉丝们津津乐道的话题。电视剧宣传海报上的那句“Smart is the new sexy (智慧是新的性感)”也被“geek一族”奉为至理名言。

不过电视剧毕竟不能等同于真实生活。不信你就试试看：戴上比玻璃瓶底还厚的眼镜，梳起怪异的发型，再穿上一件在洗衣机里染了色的粉色T恤，见到迎面走来的人就大侃量子物理学理论。估计迎接你的多半不是赞美，而是白眼和嘲讽。可如果你在路上碰到了一个叫Jason Mraz的歌手，那你可真算是找到知音了，他很可能推荐你听一首叫“Geek in the Pink”的歌，然后让你释怀：走怪胎的路，让别人说去吧。

作为歌手的Jason Mraz颇具个性，大学主修音乐剧的他中途辍学，跑到圣迭戈去当流浪艺人。因为古灵精怪的性格和音乐风格，他有了“男巫”的绰号。2002年，Mraz正式发行了首张专辑Waiting for My Rocket to Come。从专辑名我们就可以看出来，等着“火箭”来接自己的“男巫”的确不是地球人。不过地球人却十分认可“男巫”和他的音乐，在第52届格莱美颁奖典礼上，“男巫”捧走了两座格莱美奖杯。这首“Geek in the Pink”收录在Mraz于2005年发行的专辑Mr. A-Z中(这里他直接用自己的名字玩起了创意——专辑名就来源于他的姓氏Mraz)。在“Geek in the Pink”的MV中，Mraz亲自上阵，身穿一件印有OTAKU (御宅族)的粉色T恤，头戴耳机，手舞足蹈地向路人推荐自己的专辑。这首歌的MV看上去就像是一场即兴的街头表演，在Mraz的带动下，不少人收起了严肃的面孔，跟着音乐随性摇摆。

其实，怪胎们真的不必妄自菲薄，反倒应该为自己感到骄傲，而自认为“正常”的普通人也应该对“穿着粉色T恤”的怪胎们多一些包容。我们这个时代所崇拜的一些天才正是过去不被理解的那群怪胎，我们今天所相信的一些真理昨天也曾被认为是谬误。从某种意义上说，“不走寻常路”的怪胎们才是真正的勇士和智者。
