勇士之歌是美国私人募捐团体为军队募捐使用所创作的劲曲，主创者为Sean Householder。勇士之歌有两个版本，硬汉版是Sean Householder与Tom Reynolds专门为海军陆战队创作和使用的。歌词中有I'm Devil Dog一句， Devil Dog——地狱恶狗，地狱魔兽，地狱犬，神话中的地狱犬三头龙尾，性情十分凶残，负责守卫地狱大门和阻止亡灵离开。1918年6月，在第一次世界大战中，美国海军陆战队在攻击西线的贝洛森林（Belleau Wood）时名声大作。USMC作战勇猛，像是“Dogs from Hell”，被德国人描述为“Teufel Hunden”（魔鬼犬）。后“devil dog”作为海军陆战队的绰号一直流传下来。
