As the important body of CCS to develop land business, CCSC is developing at full speed land inspection and certification business. Recently,CCSC Technical Director said in the interview that land inspection and certification is the future development trend for CCS.

Reporter: Due to late start, what measures CCS has adopted in this wrestle of strength?

Wang Jianning:In order to speed up development, CCS includes energy conservation and emission reduction certification and training in addition to management system certification, product certification, inspection of containers and inspection of industrial products that CCS originally had and forms the six business spheres of CCS land inspection and certification. New business and projects are being constantly incorporated as preparation for future development. Of which, urban rail transit is the business area with bright prospective, and CCS is doing related preparation work. CCSC is developing new projects like verification of carbon emission reduction, CDM and etc.CCS is applying for the DOE certification of CDM this year.

Reporter: For land business, where do you think the construction of technical capability should start from?

Wang Jianning:From the perspective of future development, technology will be a significant buttress for the overall framework of CCS land business development,which will involve petroleum, metallurgy, construction,building and manufacture. The coverage far exceeds shipping and shipbuilding industry and the future development cannot be underestimated. However, all work related to technology need to be prepared ahead of schedule, and it would be too late if you start doing research only when you need to use the technology. Therefore, CCS should consider land business as one important area for the future development of classification societies both for the development and the implementation of its policies. The long-term plan should be developed taking into account all these factors and be implemented as soon as possible, so as to provide sufficient technical support for the future land business.

Reporter: Ten year ago, no one could have imaged that classif cation societies would be developing so rapidly in land business. So after ten years, what is your expectation for CCS’ land business development?

Wang Jianning:From the long-term perspective,the scope of land business will definitely exceed that of marine business so long as CCS has a definite ideological recognition and a clear thought, in addition to coordinated plan, organization and operation. Besides,with the development of the national economy and the shift of governmental functions, demands for inspection and certification will be increasing. With the shift of governmental functions, many business will be handed over to the impartial service organizations in the community, and classification societies are just such organizations. With the uniform ideology and objective within CCS and under the circumstance of increasing demand, the key is how we make our efforts.

If all these are accomplished, it is not a myth if CCS land business development exceeds its marine business in the next ten years.
