频率副词，顾名思义，就是表示频率的副词。它位置灵活，多用在be动词、情态动词之后，或者在实义动词之前，是初中英语中的一个重要语法知识点。对此，笔者就常见的频率副词的用法进行了分析，以期同学们能够掌握。

一、表示肯定意义的频率副词

1.always意為“总是，始终，永远，一直”，表示反复性动作或状态，发牛频率百分之百，中间没有任何间断，常与一般现在时、现在完成时连用，其反义词为never。例如：

The children are always full of energy.

孩子们总是精力充沛。

I' II always remember the dayI left home.

我永远也忘不了离家那天。

I've always worked in teaching.

我一直从事教学工作。

需要注意的是，当always用于现在进行时态时，不表示动作正在进行，而是表示多次重复性的动作，令人产牛厌烦、不快、赞许等情绪。例如：

Mary is always laughing at others.

玛丽总是嘲笑别人。

He is always answering the question witha smile.

他总是微笑着回答问题。

2.usually表示习惯性动作或状态，意为“通常，惯常，一般”，发生频率不如always，常用于一般现在时态中。例如：

I usually go to the movies once a week.

我通常一周看一次电影。

The children usually leave school by 6O' clock.

孩子们一般在六点钟放学。

Fairy tales usually have a happy ending.

童话故事通常有一个美满的结局。

3.often，表示经常性动作或状态时，意为“经常，时常”，发生频率低丁usually，其反义词为seldom，可以与一般现存时、一般过去时、一般将来时等时态连用。例如：

She often remembers the pleasant days she had with her grandma.

她时常想起和奶奶一起度过的愉快时光。

I often went to the library when l was achild.

我小时候经常去图书馆。

4.sometimes，发牛频率较低，意为“有时，偶尔，间或”，常与一般现在时连用，可以置丁句首、句中或句末。例如：

Sometimes I go to school by car.

She sometimes goes fishing on weekends.

她有时周末会去钓鱼。

She cooks by herself sometimes.

她偶尔会自己做饭。

二、表示否定意义的频率副词

1.seldom，意为“很少，不常”，发牛频率较低，常用丁一般现在时、现在完成时等时态中。例如：

I seldom see such a guy.

这种人真是少有。

They seldom play games these days.

这些日子他们很少玩游戏。

Seldom had I seen such beauty.

我以前很少见过这样的美景。

2.hardly，意为“几乎不”，发牛频率低，多用于一般现在时态。例如：

Although Jenny is a girl，she hardly wearsdresses.

虽然珍妮是个女孩，但她几乎不穿裙子。

The boy is so young that he could hardlydress himself

这个男孩太小了，他几乎不能自己穿衣服。

I can hardlv remember him now.

如今我几乎记不得他了。

3.never，意为“从不，从未，绝不”，动作发牛频率为零，可以与一般现在时、一般过去时、一般将来时、现在完成时等时态连用。例如：
