在高考英语中，阅读的重要性可以用一句话来总结，那就是：得阅读者得天下。在新高考背景下，阅读的地位得到了进一步加强：在分数设置上，部分试题的阅读理解部分由2 分每题增至2.5 分每题，并且还新增“七选五”阅读，使以前的40 分总分升至50 分;如果说这是“直接”的阅读理解，那么其他的题型，如完形填空、语法填空、读后续写，乃至听力理解都是一种“间接”的阅读理解。可以说，新高考无一题不在考阅读。

英语想要拿高分，同学们需要认真研究阅读理解题。在解答传统的“四选一”类型的阅读理解题时，笔者认为，同学们要树立一种意识，掌握五种技巧。

一、树立什么意识

这种意识便是“语义转换”。什么是语义转换？简言之，语义转换即“用英语解释英语”。纵观2021 年高考中的几套真题试卷，我们可以看到：解答绝大部分题目，都需要我们能够“语义转换”。这种语义转换，可以是用近义词、同义词进行同义改写，也可以是基于推理、总结地使用同畴词、同话题词进行同义改写。以下用两个典型例子进行说明。

【例1】（2021 年全国乙卷）Why does the interviewerprefer a coworking space？

A. It helps him concentrate.

B. It blocks out background noise.

C. It has a pleasant atmosphere.

D. It encourages face-to-face interactions.

【答案】A。

【解析】正确答案A 选项中的“concentrate”就是原文“Thats why I have a membership at the coworking space acrossthe street — so I can focus.”中“focus”的同义词转换。

【例2】（2021 新高考I 卷） What is a common misunderstandingof emotional intelligence？

A. It can be measured by an IQ test.

B. It helps to exercise a persons mind.

C. It includes a set of emotional skills.

D. It refers to a persons positive qualities.

【答案】D。

【解析】与该题相关的原文是：Many people now misunderstandemotional intelligence as almost everything desirable in apersons makeup that cannot be measured by an IQ test， such ascharacter， motivation， confidence， mental stability， optimism and“people skills”.

正確答案D 选项中的“positive qualities”可以说就是character， motivation， confidence， mental stability， optimism and“people skills”的同畴上义词，也就是前者是后者的抽象概括。

总之，绝大部分题目的答案都是对原文的直接的语义转换，抑或是在推理、总结基础上的间接的语义转换。因此，同学们要牢牢树立“语义转换”的意识，从而提高对正确答案的敏感度。……
