[Abstract] Objective To investigate the awareness of AD,stigma level and its influencing factors among middle-aged and elderly caregivers of Alzheimer′s disease. Methods From March 2019 to January 2020,156 middle-aged and elderly caregivers of Alzheimer′s disease in the memory disorder clinic and geriatric department of Guizhou Provincial Psychiatric Hospital were conducted by trained investigators using the Alzheimer′s Disease Knowledge Scale (ADKS) and Associated Stigma Scale (ASS). The cross-sectional surveys were conducted through face-to-face interviews. Results The ADKS score and the ASS score of middle-aged and elderly caregivers of Alzheimer′s disease were(18.79±3.10) points and(45.71±10.39) points, respectively. There was a statistically significant difference in ADKS scores of people with different education years, work status, residence, and family per capita monthly income(P<0.05). There was a statistically significant difference in the ASS scores of people with different age groups, education years, work status, residence, family history of dementia, and family monthly income per capita(P<0.05). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that education years and work status were the influencing factors of ADKS score, and education years and family history of dementia were the influencing factors of ASS score. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion Middle-aged and elderly caregivers of Alzheimer′s disease do not have a high level of awareness of AD and have a strong sense of stigma. It is urgent to increase the publicity of AD knowledge to promote early detection and early treatment of AD patients.
