speak， talk， tell， say都可译为“说;说话”，但是他们的用法不尽相同，下面让我们来看一看吧！

1. speak着重说话的动作，不强调所说的内容。当它用作不及物动词时，意为“说（话）;讲（话）;演讲;发言”;当它用作及物动词时，意为“说（某种语言）”。如：

She is scared when she speaks in front of people. 当她在众人面前发言时，她感到害怕。

Lots of people speak Chinese in the world. 世界上很多人讲汉语。

—Can I speak to John， please？ 请问，我能和约翰通话吗？

—Speaking. 我就是，请讲。

2. talk意为“谈话;交谈;谈论”，着重谈话的动作而不涉及谈话的内容。一般用作不及物动词，常与介词to或with连用，即talk with / to sb.“和某人谈话”。当谈及某事时，后接介词about，即talk about sth.“谈论某事”。如：

Jenny was busy and hardly had time to talk. 珍妮很忙，几乎没有时间说话。

I never talk about him. 我从不谈论他。

Its necessary for us to talk to our parents when we have problems. 当我们遇到麻烦时，有必要跟父母讲。

3. tell是及物动词，意为“告诉;讲述”，常见搭配：tell sb. sth. / tell sth. to sb.“告诉某人某事”;tell sb. about sth.“告诉某人某事”;tell sb. to do sth.“叫某人做某事”。如：

She told me about her plans. 她告诉我关于她的计划。

The facts tell us that it is not true. 事实告诉我们，这不是真的。

4. say意为“说;讲”，可用作及物和不及物动词，他的宾语可以是名词、代词。它着重说话的内容，不强调表达方式。它也可与to连用，say to sb. 意为“对某人说”。如：

To say is easy， to do is hard. 说起来容易，做起来难。

She says， dont draw on the wall. 她说别在墙上画。

另外，say还有“写道;报道”之意。如：

Look at the sign， please. It says “No Parking.” 请看告示牌，上面写着“禁止停车”。
