Learning Objective

1.Students learn to know the definition of Object Clause.

2.Students are able to master the usage of Object Clause.

3.Students are able to use Object Clause in proper situation.

Teaching procedures:

Step 1: Leading-in by revision.

(1)Ask students to analyze two sentences:S+V+O

I love you.

I will wait for you.

Think: What is Object?Where is it?

(2)Ask students to change the following sentenses from direct speech to indirect speech:

I say “I love you”.

I ask “Do you love me?”

I ask “Who loves me?”

Then analyze the structure of indirect speech sentences: S+V+O

Think:What is Object Clause?

Step 2 Grammar learning

1)Read the following sentences and try to underline the object clauses.

I know that her dream is to enter Wuhan University.

Zhong Nanshan tells us that we should stay at home.

Xi pointed out that the most important thing now is to fight the desease.

People worry about whether we can beat the coronavirus(新冠病毒).

I am sure that we can win this battle.

We are happy that we can go back to the school.

Think: How many kinds Object Clauses can you see from above them?

(1) Verb + OC       (2) Prep.+OC      (3) Be+adj+OC

2 )  Learn the three important elements of Object Clause.

宾语从句的引导词有哪些?

宾语从句要素之二:语序

宾语从句的语序是: 陈述语序,先主后谓.

A.判断下列宾语从句语序是否正确。

1.I dont know who are they.

2.The girl asked where was the post office.

3.He is thinking about what should he do.

4.I wonder if would you like some noodles.

5.Can you tell me where has he gone?

6.I wonder whether have you finished

your homework.

小结:将be动词,情态动词,助动词has,have置于主语之后。

B.观察并找出这些句子的共同点

1.How do you spend your holiday?

I wonder how you spend your holiday.

2.Where does he live?

I dont know where he lives.

3.Did you go to Wuhan last week?

I ask if you went to Wuhan last week.

小结:去掉助动词do,does,did,还原从句谓语动词的时态和数。

2.宾语从句要素三时态

宾语从句的时态原则是:主现从随意,主过从必过,真理永不变

请用所给动词的适当形式填空

参考答案:goes, will leave, visited, has finished

思考:如果主句谓语动词是一般现在时态,则从句谓语可能是任意时态。

Step 3 Extensive learning

宾语从句可以简化为:“特殊疑问句+不定式(to do)”结构

请补全下面句子

1)Could you tell me how I can get to the station?

=Could you tell me how to get to the station?

2)We wonder when we will start.

=We wonder when

3)He cant decide which sweater he should choose.

=He cant decide               sweater                          .

参考答案:2,to start,   3. which...to choose

思考:簡化条件1:当主句的主语或宾语和从句的主语一致时,可简化。

请按以下内容写一篇关于Mary的小短文,尽可能多的使用宾语从句。

众所周知,Mary是位有名的医生,但没有人知道她来自何处,大家都不确定她是否出生在中国。 许多人都喜欢他,因为他很慷慨而且乐于助人。但是,有些人认为她想出名。Mary不明白为什么他们这样心胸狭隘,但她不在乎他们所说的。她只希望自己能帮助更多的人。他认为那是生命的意义。

参考答案:

1. that she was a famous doctor.   2.where she came from.  3.whether she was born in China. 4.she just wanted to be famous. 5.why those people were so narrow-mineded. 6.what they thought of her.  7.to help more people. 8.thats the meaning of life.
