Today， as one of the most spectacular cultural accomplishments， Japanese animation & comics enjoys worldwide affection. It became one of the driving forces to reconstruct the nations spirit after WWII； and the animation master， Tezuka Osamu， had made undeniable contributions to that.

The name might not be familiar to the readers but his representative artworks were known by all， for example， Astro Boy Tetsuwan Atomu. He was renowned as the Father and Founder of Japanese Animation. He was the first person to introduce the assistant system and enterprise management to animation industry. Tezuka Osamu began his animation career since 18. Until passed away for cancer at 61， he never stopped creations. It was said that the last sentence he said was “hand me my pencil.” In his artworks， Tezuka Osamu inspired the later generations with his in-depth thinking and care about grant themes such as life， heart， and destiny. The rich connotations and meanings in his artworks influenced and made Japan a superpower in animation today.

今天，日本動漫早已作为其最具特色且最为世人瞩目的文化艺术成就，享誉全球，在世界范围内拥有大量“粉丝”。在短短几十年里，日本动漫迅速崛起，甚至成为战后重筑日本国民精神世界的重要推动力之一。一代动漫大师手冢治虫功不可没。

不了解日本动漫的人，或许对手冢治虫这个名字会稍感陌生，但如果提起他的代表作“铁臂阿童木”，恐怕在中国几乎家喻户晓。

在日本，手冢治虫被誉为“日本动漫之父”。他是日本现代动漫的奠基人，一生创造了许多个“第一”。如创作了第一部少女漫画《蓝宝石王子》，制作了日本第一部多集TV动画《铁臂阿童木》、第一部彩色多集TV动画《森林大帝》；他也是日本第一位导入助手制度与企业化经营的漫画家。迄今，手冢治虫仍然是日本动漫界的精神领袖，即便在其之后业界人才辈出，不乏大师级的创作者，但依然无人能够撼动手冢治虫的地位。日本NTT DOCOMO电信公司曾发起一项“最能代表日本的漫画家”的群众投票。结果不出所料，手冢治虫以10751票、44%的得票率高居榜首，超过第二、三、四名的票数总和。

手冢治虫的动漫生涯始于童年。小时候，他像所有小孩子一样，喜欢看漫画和卡通，乐于临摹原作、绘出自己的“作品”。他对动漫的兴趣、天赋就是在这样自然而然的学习中培养出来的。11岁时，他开始使用“手冢治虫”这个笔名，只是因为在看了平山修次郎的《原色千种昆虫图谱》后迷上了昆虫采集，就在本名“手冢治”之后加了个“虫”字。……
