今天体育课取消了，因为第四节课改为全校大会。不得不承认，我还真有点失望了。说来你也不信，我跟卡洛斯跳梅伦格舞还跳出感觉了呢。Today at school,Phys Ed was canceled because we had a generalassembly during fourth period.Ihave to admit Iwas a little disappointed when I found out,because believe it or not,me and Carlos have actually been getting the hang of the merengue.

不过大家都很兴奋，因为我们自从11月那次之后就没开过全校大会了。那次是一个叫“了不起的安德鲁”的催眠师来我们学校。Most people were pretty excited,though,because we haven’t had a general assembly since November.That’s when this hypnotist called the Amazing Andrew came to our school.

他的压轴好戏是催眠一排八年级的学生，让他们以为彼此的胳膊被万能胶黏在了一起。In the grand finale of his show,the Amazing Andrew hypnotized a line of eighth-graders into thinking their arms were superglued together.

然后他说他会用一句咒语将他们分开。他念了咒语后，他们果然就真的分开了。Then he told the guys he’d unglue them with a magic word,and when he said it they came apart just like that.

放学后，孩子们开始争论不休，围绕催眠师那把戏到底是真是假，那几个八年级学生是不是都串通好了做托的之类。After school some kids got into an argument over whether the hypnotist was for real or if those eighth-graders were in on the act and just faking it.
