In Denmark， people enjoy good meals and good times with friends and family. What Danes eat today are similar to what they ate many centuries ago. Traditional Danish food is based on what was available15 nearby from a long time ago， during Denmarks short summers. Cabbage， root vegetables， rye16 bread， fish， and pork are the most common food in Denmark. Since weather is cold in Denmark， Danes tend to eat a lot of meat all the time to stay warm.

Danes eat most of their meals at home in private. A breakfast of coffee， bread， or cereal is eaten at home. Sunday breakfast commonly includes fresh bakery bread， boiled eggs， juice， tea or coffee， and the Sunday newspaper. Open-face sandwiches with rye bread are traditional for lunch， with seafood， eggs， meats， vegetables， chocolate or fruit on top. On New Years Eve， Easter， and Christmas， Danes eat special traditional meals， once again， based on fish or pork.

Danes love sweets， particularly cake. No celebratory dinner is complete without a cake.

It is a tradition in Denmark，and， sometimes you will see a vendor17 walking down the street pulling it！ They are probably going home from work.
