NASA’s recent announcement[公告]about a position as Planetary Protection Of fi cer drew the attention of 9-year-old Jack Davis.

“I may be nine, but I think I would be fi t for the job. One of the reasons is my sister says I am an alien. Also, I have seen almost all the space movies and alien movies I can see,” Jack said in a handwritten letter to NASA.

His con fi dentapplication[申请]drew the attention of NASA’s Planetary Science Director Jim Green. He sent a response. “I hear you are a‘Guardian[守卫者]of theGalaxy[银河系]’ and interested in being a Planetary Protection Of fi cer. That’s great!”Green wrote.

Although Green’s letter didn’t include aformal[正式的]joboffer[邀请], he did encourage the boy to work hard.
