在现实生活和教学实践中，连系动词的用法可以说是无处不有，其实，有少数动词既可作连系动词又可作实义动词，下面我们一起看看连系动词有哪些用法。

一、表示主语的特征或状态的连系动词有：be，feel，look，seem，appear，sound，smell，taste等。例如：

She is afraid that she wont be able to get together with her family during this spring festival. （恐怕她今年春节不能和家人团聚了。）

He felt very disappointed at the bad/unlucky news. （他因那条不幸的消息感到非常失望。）

The popular music sounds very beautiful. （流行音乐听起来非常优美。）

The sound sounded like the singing of the birds and the bleating of the sheep in the countryside. （那声音听起来像乡下的鸟鸣羊叫。）

The noodles with beef taste really delicious. （这牛肉面尝起来味道真不错。）

二、表示主语由一种状态变为另一种状态的有：become，get，grow，turn，fall，go，come等。例如：

He became very interested in learning English at the age of six. （他六岁时就对英语产生了浓厚的兴趣。）

The trees turn green and everything begins to grow in spring. （春天，树变绿了，万物开始生长。）

The boy felt asleep as soon as he lay down after he finished his homework. （这孩子完成功课后一躺下就睡着了。）

The food in the fridge goes bad soon. （冰箱里的食物很快就变味儿了。）

三、表示主语保持某种状态的连系动词有：keep，stay，continue，remain等。例如：

The little girl always keeps nervous when she answers the teachers questions in class. （那个小姑娘在课堂上在回答老师的问题时总是很紧张。）

The temperature will stay/keep above zero in the day-time. （白天的温度一直在零度以上。）

四、不同类型的系动词有时可以互相换用。如be与feel，seem与appear，become与grow，get与become， remain与stay等。例如：

She was so tired. = She felt so tired. （她太累了。）

He became young. = He grew young. （他变得年轻了。）

She remained calm. = She stayed calm. （她变得聪明了。）

The story seems/appears very instructive. （那故事似乎很有教育意义。）

五、连系动词的特别用法：

1. 表示突然变化时可以用turn；表示渐变时多用get或grow。例如：

Everyones face turned white after they heard the bad news. （当他们听到那不幸的消息时，每个人的脸色都变白了。）

Our country is getting stronger and richer now. （我们的国家变得越来越富强了。）

Our teachers hair is growing white. （我们老师的头发逐渐变白了。）

2. 表示主语由好变坏或使人产生不愉快的情绪时常用go，与表示意义的或带前缀un-的形容词连用的常用come. 例如：

Everything goes very well. （一切顺利。）

The meat went bad. （肉变质了。）

Her beautiful dream has come true. （他的美梦实现了。）

The knot came untied. （绳结解开了。）

3. 在become 后面接可数名词单数时，名词前要用不定冠词，而turn 后面的可数名词单数前则不用。例如：

So people say the world itself is not becoming more and more peaceful. （世界本身变得越来越不太平了。）

He used to be a teacher till he turned writer. （他成为作家之前是名教师。）
