A Report from the Front: Impression of the 15th Venice Architecture Biennale

编者按：“前线”一词，多指作战时由最前面的作战部队形成的一条军事线，此说法在两极格局形成后，逐步淡出政治视野。此次展览“来自前线的报告”将前线一词应用于建筑领域。既与阿拉维纳的个人有关，但更要的是以中国为代表的发展中国家，在经济全球化趋势下，经济迅速发展，但社会两极分化也日趋严重。建筑与人文生存环境也趋于分化。此次展览期望不同国家的建筑师、策展人以各自的方式思考和定义“前线”的概念，从不同的视角阐释“家”与人、与社会、与身份认同、与建筑、与时间、与难民等问题的关系。

Editor’s note:The front normally refers to a military line formed by the headmost combat troops during a battle. This meaning of the word gradually disappeared from the political view after the formation of the bipolar structure. The exhibition, A Report from the Front, applies the word to the field of architecture, which certainly has something to do with Aravena himself. However, what is more important is that developing countries with China as the representative, though having achieved rapid economic development under the tendency of economic globalization, are experiencing more and more serious social polarization. Architecture and humanistic living environment tend to be polarized as well. It is hoped that, through this exhibition, architects and curators from different countries may think about and define “the front” in their own way, and interpret from different perspectives the relationship between “home” and human beings, society, identity, architecture, time and refugees etc.

展览中的平民花园

由于我们的作品入选了今年威尼斯建筑双年展，需要提前两周赶到位于威尼斯军械库的中国馆装配，得以看到了很多国家以及设计艺术组合的作品项目搭建过程。威尼斯双年展的展区分为军械库和Giadini花园两部分。我们接触最多的是军械库部分的项目。我非建筑专业出身，以下由外行的角度谈谈对本届双年展的零星片段印象。

对第15届威尼斯建筑双年展的整体印象

总的感觉，这届双年展在姿态上是一届相对轻松的、“航空母舰”缺席、资本隐退到幕后的双年展。这种姿态表现在大量关注平民以及极富灵感的“小设计”的出场。……
