recommend

vt. 推荐，介绍；劝告，建议

用法 recommend后接不定式的复合结构；也可接动名词。用法类似的单词有：allow， advise， forbid， permit等。recommend表示主观判断时，通常引导含虚拟语气的宾语从句，从句谓语动词用should+动词原形，should可以省略。类似用法的单词有：advise， command， demand， desire， insist， maintain， order， propose， require， suggest， urge等。

辨析 substitute， replace

这两个词的含义略有不同，substitute强调“代替，顶替”，而replace强调“替换，更换”，即把旧的或坏的东西更换成新的（用take the place of更通俗些）。

在句型结构上，通常是：substitute A for B意为“用A代替B（使用A）”；replace A with B意为“用B替换A（使用B）”。
