摘要：过去谈雕塑与建筑的关系时，人们从形式的角度谈得多，雕塑是建筑的补充和装饰点缀，以及雕塑为建筑服务等等。其实二者的关系更应从文化功能去着眼,某些相似的文化功能,才是雕塑与建筑发生关系的内在原因.雕塑和建筑是城市的重要景观。因此,雕塑与建筑要力求具备强烈的时代风貌。在主题内容的构思和形象的刻画上要把握时代脉搏,在表现形式上要适应时代的城市面貌。

前言：伴随着中国经济不断的发展,人们生活水平的不断提高，城市建设发生着翻天覆地的变化, 城市建设少不了雕塑、建筑、环境艺术等公共艺术的参与。座座雕塑恰好的坐落在建筑群中,使生硬冷峻的建筑妙笔生辉,传出了建筑实体的内在语言，道出了无言的深情。让我们在感受生活美好的同时，不禁赞叹建筑大师和雕塑家创造了这美的奇迹,把城市推向了另一高度文明的空间。

中国现代意义上的雕塑,建筑等艺术形式的发展,与其说是艺术自身发展的需要,不如说是中国文化的需要。如果仅从艺术和审美着眼,在20世纪前半段,中国城市的发展其实并不那么迫切地需要一种新型的、审美的雕塑艺术,因为一个动荡的年代、破坏的年代和社会转型的年代,并不适合雕塑的发展。雕塑更适合在一个稳定的,建设的,常规的年代生存发展。从20世纪中期开始,苏式雕塑进入中国,它带来的积极作用是,促进了雕塑由教室走向社会,推动了城市雕塑创作的繁荣。……
