8月23日晚，由重庆市人民政府外事侨务办公室和韩国驻成都总领事馆共同主办的中韩建交20周年招待会在洲际酒店举行。重庆市副市长陈和平、韩国驻成都总领事郑万永参会并发表讲话。

陈和平说，中韩两国自1992年8月24日建交以来，重庆与韩国的友好关系不断深化，双方在经贸、教育、文化、科技等领域合作交往日益深化，在地区及国际事务中也保持了密切的协调与合作。重庆是中国西部唯一的直辖市，也是国家中心城市、历史文化名城和西南地区综合交通枢纽。目前，重庆的现代制造业和现代服务业基地已经拉开建设帷幕，经济发展迅猛，开放型经济体系建设成效显著，实际利用外资额和进出口总额不断增长。陈和平说，在中韩建交20周年之际，祝愿重庆与韩国搭建起更多交流合作平台，为中韩友谊和共同发展做出新的更大贡献。

郑万永在致辞中说，重庆的飞速发展有着很强的吸引力，众多韩国企业来渝投资建厂愿望强烈，期待着韩国与重庆的交流与合作走得更远，走得更好。他说，8月24日是中韩建交整整20周年的日子。20年间，中韩两国建立的友好合作关系，为推动双边文化、教育、科技等各个领域发展做出了积极贡献，重庆与韩国早有渊源，二战时期，韩国将临时政府迁至重庆，并于1940年在重庆成立韩国光复军总司令部。至今，这两处旧址在我市渝中区仍有迹可寻。目前，重庆市已与韩国仁川广域市、釜山广域市、全罗南道等缔结为友好城市或签署友好交流协议，九龙坡区与韩国釜山中区、武隆县与韩国全罗北道扶安郡、巴南区与韩国光州南区缔结为友好交流区县或签署友好交流合作备忘录。

重庆与韩国间开展了一系列交流活动。2005年起，“重庆·韩国”友好周活动开展频繁；2008年，重庆市大型友好代表团赴韩国仁川出席第7届仁川中国节活动；2010年10月，重庆市举办了“重庆-韩国美食节”；2011年4月7日，大韩贸易投资振兴公社重庆代表处挂牌成立，两地经济交流又迈出了一大步。

重庆市人大副秘书长张良皓，市人大民宗侨外委副主任委员白庭学，市政府副秘书长艾扬，市外侨办主任朱晞颜，副主任张海清、程友禄等参加招待会，韩国中国商会西南分会会长权五哲、重庆市韩人会会长裴太旭等韩国侨民代表也应邀参会。

On August 23, a reception for the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relation Between China and Korea was cosponsored by foreign and overseas Chinese affairs of Chongqing people’s government and Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Chengdu at Intercontinental Chongqing Hotel.the Deputy Mayor of Chongqing Mr.Chen Heping, Korean Consul General in Chengdu Mr. Chung Man young participated and gave speech.

Mr. Chen said that the bilateral relation between Chongqing and Korea has been deepening ever since August 24, 1992 when they established the diplomatic relations. They are deepening cooperation in the field of communication, trade, education,culture, science and technology, also close coordination and cooperation in regional and international affairs.Currently the modern manufacturing and service industry base of Chongqing have started the economic development has rapidly grown, open economic system was effective and actual utilization of foreign investment and import and export volume continues to grow. He wished Chongqing and Korea built more exchanges and cooperation platform, making new and greater contributions to the development of Sino-Korea friendship.

Mr. Chung Man young said the rapid development of Chongqing is so attractive that many Korea enterprises have strong aspiration to invest in Chongqing plant, he was looking forward to the much and better exchange and cooperation between Korea and Chongqing. At present Chongqing signed friendship agreement with Inchon, Pusan city and Quan Luonan road, jiulongpo district,signed memorandum of cooperation.with Korea Busan ;Central in Wulong County with Jeollabuk-do and Gwangju South District in Chongqing.

Chongqing and Korea has lots activities. "Chongqing•Korea" friendly week activities frequently early in 2005, In 2008, the large delegation from Chongqing visited Incheon,Korea and attended the 7th “China Festivl”; In October 2010, "Chongqing-Korea Food Festival" was held in Chongqing; On April 7, 2011, the Korea trade-investment promotion agency Chongqing representative office was established, which means economic exchanges between the two sides have taken another major step forward.
