苹果董事会8月25日宣布，苹果CEO史蒂夫·乔布斯 (Steve Jobs)辞职，董事会已任命前苹果COO蒂姆·库克(Tim Cook)接任苹果CEO一职。一个时代结束了，这位二十一世纪头十年最伟大的CEO，终于走到了职业生涯的末期。

On August 24th,2011,Apple’s Board of Directors announced that Steve Jobs has resigned as Chief Executive Officer,and the Board has named Tim Cook,previously Apple’s Chief Operating Officer,as the company’s new CEO.Jobs has been elected Chairman of the Board and Cook will join the Board,effective immediately.

2011年8 月24日，苹果公司董事会宣布，担任首席执行官的乔布斯辞职，董事会任命此前苹果公司的首席运营官蒂姆库克，为公司的新任首席执行官。乔布斯已经当选为董事会主席，库克将加入董事会，立即生效。

“The Board has complete confidence that Tim is the right person to be our next CEO,”added Levinson.“Tim’s 13 years of service to Apple have been marked by outstanding performance,and he has demonstrated remarkable talent and sound judgment in everything he does.”

Jobs submitted his resignation to the Board and strongly recommended that the Board implement its succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO.

As COO,Cook was previously responsible for all of the company’s worldwide sales and operations,including end-to-end management of Apple’s supply chain,sales activities,and service and support in all markets and countries.He also headed Apple’s Macintosh division and played a key role in the continued development of strategic reseller and supplier relationships,ensuring flexibility in response to an increasingly demanding marketplace.

作为首席运营官，库克曾负责公司的全球销售和运营，包括苹果供应链的衔接管理、销售活动，和所有市场和国家的服务支持。他还领导苹果Macintosh的分配，在战略经销商和供应商关系的持续发展中起到了关键作用，确保在要求越来越高的市场中反应灵活。
