◇词语用法

interesting&interested

interesting和interested都是形容词，但用法不同。interesting意为“有趣的”，其主语通常是事物；interested意为 “感兴趣的”，其主语通常是人，be interested in(doing)sth.意为“对（做）某事感兴趣”。例如：

That question is really interesting.那个问题十分有趣。

I am interested in skating and I spend a lot of time on it.我对滑冰感兴趣，并且在滑冰上花了很多时间。

【知识拓展】

interest用作名词时，意为“兴趣；趣味”。interest用作动词时，意为“使感兴趣；使关注”。例如：

Henry's interests are listening to music and playing tennis.亨利的兴趣是听音乐和打网球。

Politics doesn't interest me.我对政治不感兴趣。

ago&before

ago意为“以前”，只作副词，一般放在表示时间段的词语之后。before用作副词时，可单独使用，意为“以前”；也可以用作介词或连词，意为“在……以前”。例如：

Two years ago,he was still a student.两年前，他还是个学生。

Li Ming usually gets up before 7：30.李明通常七点半之前起床。

I didn't know much about Hangzhou before I went there.在去杭州之前，我对那儿不怎么了解。

shout at&shout to

shout作动词，意为“呼叫；喊叫”，常与介词at或to连用。shout at sb.表示“生气地或敌意地对某人大喊大叫”；shout to sb.表示“大声叫某人”或“大声对某人说话”，以引起别人的注意，无辱骂或生气的意思。例如：

The little girl got very dirty and her mother shouted at her.这个小女孩很脏，她妈妈冲她大声叫喊。

She shouted to me,but I didn't hear her.她大声叫我，但我没有听到。

thousand&thousands of

thousand意为“千”，当其前面有具体数字时，thousand后面不加“s”，用来修饰复数名词；当thousand前面没有具体数字时，thousand后要加“s”。常用短语为thousands of，意为“成千上万的”，表示不确定的数量，修饰复数名词。例如：

The new computer cost me four thou-sand yuan.这台新电脑花了我4，000元。

Thousands of people come to visit the Terracotta Army every year.每年都有成千上万的人来参观兵马俑。

among&between

among是介词，意为“在……中；……之一”，表示在三者或三者以上的人或物之中，后面常接复数名词、代词或集合名词；between多指在两者之间，其宾语往往是表示两者意义的名词或代词，或是由and连接的两个人或物。例如：

John isthe tallestboy among the three.约翰是那三个男孩中最高的。

Xi'an is among the most beautiful cities in China.西安是中国最漂亮的城市之一。

How is the relationship between them?他们俩之间的关系怎么样？

I sat down between Tina and Anna.我坐在蒂娜和安娜中间。
