【Abstract】 City “smart growth” is the 1990s the United States against the spread of urban development proposed，to address serious social，economic and environmental problems caused by urban sprawl，focusing on the development and implementation of urban development and planning policies and regulations of the city.Through the planning of compact communities，give full play to the effectiveness of the existing infrastructure；provide more diversified transportation and housing options，to achieve the development of urban sprawl-type development of urban land use，spatial distribution and other market forces in the field of administrative intervention and control.We selected Fenghua City and Fort Collins as the research object.
