The 21st China International Man-made Fiber Conference (CIMFC) was grandly staged in Jiangsu Shengze from September 7th to 9th, 2015, attracting nearly 600 representatives at home and abroad. The conference was themed on “innovation-driven, integrative development — the main theme of the development of chemical fiber industry in the ‘New normal ” and focused on new strategies for the transformation and new initiatives for integrative development of global chemical fiber industry.

The conference was featured with a development forum and eight thematic forums including “High Performance Fibers & Composite Materials”, “Intelligent Manufacturing & Industry Services”, “Value Restructuring of Functional Fibers”, “Green Fibers& Technology”, “Fiber to Fashion”, “Advanced Vinylon Technology”, and “Advanced Fiber Technology”.

After two years in China, this years ITMF Annual Conference, organized by the Switzerland-based International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF), held in San Francisco September 9 - 12, 2015. The conference, themed on “Intelligent and Responsible Production from Raw Material to Final Consumer — The Mission of the Global Textile Industry”, attracting 225 represents from 31 countries and regions.

The conference focused on intelligent and responsible production along the entire textile value chain from fibers to retail. Wang Tiankai, President of ITMF and President of CNTAC, gave an opening speech, putting forward two proposals: sustainable development driven by innovation, and common development based on win-win cooperation. The four-day conference covered wide topics including the development of cotton and chemical fiber industries, textile industry in the Americas, textile supply chain, network retail, intelligent textiles, global textile (machinery) market, etc. to discuss important development strategies of the textile industry globally.

The 9th Apparel Sourcing Paris trade fair, took place from Monday 14 to Thursday 17 September 2015 at Paris Le Bourget, kicked off today, attracting more than 400 exhibitors from all over the world, among which 100 newcomers represented Bangladesh, China, South Korea, Chinese Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, Turkey and Vietnam.

Visitors to Apparel Sourcing Paris appreciate the added value of quality and originality. Knits are showing the strongest growth, with more than 35 new manufacturers who are focusing on highly diverse collections of circular and cut and sewn knits for men, women and children. Unstructured garments continue to develop, with 29 businesses. The fair featured a national pavilion for the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS), with ten exhibitors. The trade fair had a full programme, featuring four seminars and numerous fashion shows to reveal the specialties of exhibitors from participating countries.

Ten emerging fashion designers were announced today as The EcoChic Design Award 2015/16 finalists. These talented finalists out-designed a record number of applications received from 40 countries, including newcomer countries such as India, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Iran and Israel, and collectively represent a greater global focus put onto sustainable design amongst emerging designers.

Now these ten designers, who represent seven countries across Asia and Europe, will continue their ambitions to create a more sustainable fashion industry as they produce their textile-waste-reducing collections ready for the reveal on the Hong Kong Fashion Week runway in January 2016, where career-changing prizes, including designing an up-cycled collection for Shanghai Tang, will be awarded.

The EcoChic Design Awards current competition cycle had unprecedented interest with over sixty university partners joining to promote the competition to their students and alumni, including Central Saint Martins in the UK, National Institute of Fashion Technology in India and Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology in Mainland China.

The International Textile Fair announces a partnership with the Ethical Fashion Forums sustainable fashion business platform, SOURCE, to bring a dedicated sustainability seminar to the October tradeshow.

Held over two days, the International Textile Fair welcomes over 6000 visitors to the UAE, which is now the fourth largest trading centre for fashion and apparel. Mallory Giardino, SOURCE Membership Director, will present a seminar on both days of the tradeshow looking at the business case for sustainability in todays fashion industry.

Giardino will cover an introduction to the issues around sustainable fashion, some facts on the global market, and some of the key sustainability trends in the industry.

The 40,000-spindle spinning project signed between Baoshan Municipal Government and Tianjin Erfang Investment Holdings Co., Ltd., is placed in operation today. The project plans to invest 62 million yuan, and is estimated to achieve an annual output value of 80 million yuan with paid taxes of one million yuan, contributing to the employment of 252 people.

Baoshan City Mayor Wu Song hopes that the project can develop into an industrial chain, gradually transferring the other industry sectors to Baoshan city. In the future, Baoshan will go out to India Assam and Myanmar Myitkyina to build bases for goods display.

The signing marks a breakthrough of the company to go out of the country and Baoshan city will do its utmost to support a full range of good service to the settlement, construction and development of the company.
