National Development and Reform Commission and Other Four Departments Had Meetings with Key Bulk Commodity Companies
In late , NDRC, MIIT, SASAC, Administration for Market Regulation and CSRC jointly held meetings with key influential companies engaged in iron ore industry, steel industry, copper industry and aluminum industry. China Iron and Steel Association and Nonferrous Metals Association took part in these meetings. In the meetings, a topic, which has drawn significant attention, was brought up that the prices of some bulk commodities keep going up since this year, and prices of certain types of commodities are even hitting new highs frequently. The meetings require that relevant key companies should improve their stances, build big picture awareness, and devote themselves to fulfilling social responsibilities, promoting coordinated development among upstream and downstream and protecting pleasant ecological environment. Key companies should keep strengthening their legal consciousness, carry out well-organized operation according to law and lead the industry to standardized price order. In no way should they gang up to manipulate market price, fabricate and spread rumors of price increase or store up goods to make a good bargain and bid up the price. Relevant associations are required to start from the view of long-term sound development for the industry to correctly fulfill industrial functions of self-governance and organization, well play the role of coordination and connection, guide industrial companies to strengthening self-discipline and jointly maintain normal and sound order of the market.
