The SINOPEC Research Institute of Petroleum Processing (RIPP) has been actively cooperating with the Civil Aircraft Materials Industry Development Alliance(CAMIDA) and the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC) in the development of aircraft engine lube oils, hydraulic oils, and lubricating greases.The general purpose grease RIPP®7260 independently developed by RIPP has been successfully included in COMAC’s qualified products list to be the first domestic lubricating material suitable for use in China’s large commercial aircraft and also the only one lubricating grease approved in COMAC’s qualified products list.

The general-purpose grease RIPP®7260 can comply with the Boeing BMS 3-33B specification, the Airbus AIMS09-06-002 specification, the SAE AMS 3052 and a lot of other international standards, and its excellent comprehensive product quality has propelled the grease RIPP®7260 to an internationally advanced level.The general-purpose grease RIPP®7260 has excellent lubricating performance. Generally speaking, the large passenger airplane needs to select different kinds of greases for lubrication of different engine parts. However,this grease RIPP®7260 can be used to lubricate more than 95% of aircraft engine parts to significantly reduce the assortment of lubricating materials, resulting in a reduced cost and efforts of CAMIDA members devoted to selection, procurement, and storage of lubricating greases.In order to guarantee the grease product quality, both of CAMIDA and COMAC administration has made strict investigation of RIPP’s production process control,quality control, and product performance. For instance,after the general-purpose grease RIPP®7260 has passed multiple tests, including the AS9100 quality management system certification, the production process control review, the comprehensive capability appraisal, and the airworthiness compliance verification checks, the grease RIPP®7260 has been finally approved by COMAC as a qualified product to be used in the commercial aircraft.
