1. weak  adj.  虚弱的;无力的

He was too weak even to lift his hand.

他虚弱得连手都抬不起来。

be weak in 不擅长……;在……方面不行

He is weak in sight and hearing.

他的視力和听力都很差。

2. remind  v.  提醒;使想起

（1）remind sb to do sth 提醒某人做某事

He reminded me to write the letter.

他提醒我写信。

（2）remind sb of sth 使某人想起某事

She reminded him of the last time they had met.

她让他想起他们上次的相遇。

（3）remind sb+that从句 提醒某人……

He reminded me that I ought to do it at once.

他提醒我应该现在就去做这件事。

3. excite  v.  使激动;使兴奋

The news excited me very much.

这个消息使我非常激动。

excited  adj.  激动的;兴奋的 （主语通常是人）

exciting  adj.  令人激动的;令人兴奋的 （主语通常是物）

excitement  n.  激动;兴奋

4. smile  v. & n.  笑;微笑

She smiled and said， “How are you getting on？”

她微笑着说：“你近来过得好吗？”

“There are some sandwiches if youre hungry，” she said with a smile.

她微笑着说：“如果你饿了，那儿有些三明治。”

smile at sb 对某人微笑

He smiled at me and then asked me if he could sit near me.

5. marry  v.  结婚

（1）marry sb 嫁给某人;与某人结婚 （marry不与介词with 连用）

John married Mary last week.

上星期约翰和玛丽结婚了。

（2）be/get married 结婚

They got married last month.

他们上个月结婚了。

（3）be/get married to sb 与某人结婚

Jane was married to a doctor last month.

上个月简和一位医生结婚了。

6. nobody  pron.  没有人

n.  小人物

Nobody seems to notice.

似乎没有人注意。

In the army， he was a nobody.

在军队里，他只是一个无名小卒。

辨析：nobody， none和no one

这些代词均表示“没人”之意。

（1）nobody表单数，只能指代人，不能用于加of表范围的结构中。

（2）none可指代人或物，表示对三者或三者以上的否定，可跟表范围的of结构 （谓语动词可用单数，也可用复数）。

（3）no one只用于指人，通常后面不加of。

7. cheat  v.  欺骗;蒙骗

n.  骗子

Dont go to that shop—they often cheat their customers.

别去那家商店，他们常常欺骗顾客。

He is a cheat.

他是个骗子。

（1）cheat sb （out） of sth 骗取某人某物

He cheated the old man （out） of his money.

他骗了这个老人的钱。

注意：没有cheat sb sth这种用法。

（2）cheat sb into （doing） sth 骗取某人（做）某事

He cheated her into marrying him.

他骗她嫁给他。

8. bright  adv.  光亮地;明亮地

adj.  明亮的;光线充足的

The stars were shining bright/brightly.

星光灿烂。

Bright light spreads all over the room.

明亮的灯光照亮了屋中的每个角落。

辨析：bright和brightly

bright和brightly都有“光亮地;明亮地”的意思。

（1）bright作副词时通常只与shine连用，且应置于其后，这里bright可以用brightly替代。
