北京是中华人民共和国（The People’s Republic of China）的首都，为全国政治中心、文化中心和国际交往中心。

北京历史悠久，文化灿烂，是我国首批国家历史文化名城。作为中国四大古都之一，它也是全球拥有世界文化遗产最多的城市。北京对外开放的旅游景点达200多处。北京不仅有着古老帝都的雄伟庄严、厚重沧桑，还有现代大都市的时尚繁华、高速便捷，它的丰富多元，总让人乐而忘返。

Beijing is a big city and it is the capital of China. Beijing has a long history（历史）. There are many old buildings（建筑物） there. But Beijing is changing every day. Now there are a lot of new buildings， modern（现代的） shopping malls（大型购物中心） and large markets.

In the past， Beijing was very clean and quiet. Most people went to work or school by bike. Now people can take a bus， the underground（地铁） or a taxi.

Every year， people from different countries come to Beijing. They speak different languages（語言）. They always visit the Summer Palace， Tian’anmen Square and the Great Wall.

The food in Beijing is delicious， especially（尤其） Beijing Duck.

In Beijing， it’s hot in summer and cold in winter. The best time to come to Beijing is autumn.
