小兔子Baron一家在野餐回家的途中迷路了。天越来越黑，他们担心会遇见老怪物（Old Monster）。这个怪物很可怕，专门在夜晚出来吃小兔子。要是小兔子一家遇上了这个老怪物，那该怎么办呀？Let's read the story.

Baron is a little rabbit.

One day， he goes out for a picnic with his parents.

They have a great time in the forest.

But， on the way home they lose their way.

Mum is worried.

"We must get home，" she says，

"We do not want to meet Old Monster."

"Who is that？" Baron asks.

"A terrible（可怕的） monster，"says Dad，

"He comes out at nightand eats little rabbits."

Baron's parents go to search for（寻找） a path.

"Baron， wait here until we come back，" says Mum.

Baron sits under a tree and waits.

It becomes dark in the forest.

Baron is afraid.

Suddenly， Baron sees twohuge（巨大的）eyes.

It is Old Monster.

He is standing near Baron.

"Don't eat me！" cries Baron.

"I am not hungry now，"says Old Monster，

"I have eaten too many tasty（美味的）rabbits."

Old Monster takes out a jump rope.

"After I jump rope one hundred times，" says Old Monster.

"I will be hungry again. Then I can eat YOU！"

Old Monster ties（系）oneend of the rope to a tree.

"Turn for me！" he shouts.

Baron turns the rope forOld Monster.

Old Monster jumps twenty times.

"I am beginning to get hungry，" he says.

Old Monster jumps fifty times.

"I am getting hungrier， " he says.

Old Monster jumps ninety times.

"I am very hungry now！" he says.

Baron wants to save himself.

So， he runs around andaround the tree with the rope.

Baron ties up（绑） Old Monster.

Old Monster roars（咆哮）.

But he can't move now.

Baron runs away fast.

He finds his parents.

Then they come safely home.
